Awesome article. This pretty much sums it up for all professional athletes.
Reminds me of when Adrian Peterson (MIN Vikings) compared playing in the NFL to modern day slavery. BTW, he signed a 7 year contract worth $100 million. Poor Slave, wanna trade jobs?

After all, it is just a GAME. Bodybuilding, pro football, baseball, whatever...just a game. Meaningless in the grand scheme of things and they are paid a lot of money to do it. A dream job that some bitch about. Makes me sick.
I could tell you stories from being behind the scenes with the teams Jimmy has played for. If I go to a game I get VIP access after the game to be where all of the family members are and I usually sit in the family seating section at the games. You would be surprised at all of this shit I hear and see.

I would be happy with just a business similar to Skip's, prob even call it Team Steely....
Seriously though, I think you may make some people mad this month....lol
I did make it a point to post that there are obvious exceptions and that I do know some solid people who are pros. However, I have gotten a few sarcastic remarks, already, from a couple pros. LOL

The other weekend we had Flex Lewis at an event at our store.. We were so busy that day he mentioned he felt like he had a "real job" and laughed at the idea.. Said he had never really worked a real job and essentially how good he had it.
He was very down to earth and a cool guy to hang out with. It's always refreshing to meet guys like him.
I can't because you know how I explain things and it would be mean to prove my point. lol
I will say this as the crux of my point: Money doesn't change someone at their core. If they are white trash, they just become white trash with money and they make bigger and dumber mistakes (and more expensive fashion mistakes). If they are ghetto, they remain ghetto but with more money.
That is the nice way of putting it.

I have not personally met Flex but I have heard the same thing about him. I hear he is a great guy with a very humble approach to the sport and in dealing with people.
I can say that Steve Kuclo is an absolutely awesome pro, as well. Sure, he is young and a new pro so maybe he hasn't been devoured by the sport, yet, but he is good people. He is no different than when he was coming up early in the amateur ranks.
Then, there are others that were cool and handled themselves well and the more time they are in the spotlight, they start believing they really are that God to people and it sucks to watch.
I do agree that it happens in all sports, to some degree, though. It's just that I don't rant about other sports, I rant about BBing.

Antoine Walker is busted too. Saw him at a gas station here in Chicago(he lives here) and he was still cruising in a Range, but still, to lose $110 million in career earnings!!!
