  • Update on my back

After being out of the gym for 10 days and eating burgers and pizza (and a few Krispy Kremes) I returned to the gym today not really knowing what to expect but figuring I felt pretty good and I wanted to see what I could or couldn't do.

I trained chest and back. Chest went well but I purposely chose exercises that I didn't have to move a lot of heavy dumbbells and things like that. No pain or anything after chest. Got into back and in addition to some supported row work I did a few sets of double dumbbell rows with no support and felt great. I even did long pulley rows and finished with 4 sets of SLDL with dumbbells. I didn't go ridiculously heavy but I didn't go light, either. I was relieved to see that I had no pain, at all. I wasn't even stiff later after getting home.

I will continue to be careful and training legs may not be as great but I think I dodged a bullet here. Initially, all indications were that I had a pretty bad situation with my back and it appears that it recovered quickly and I may be good to go.

That's good stuff Ken, glad it all went well.
…Time is so precious….and you need to ask yourself, what are you going to do today but more importantly, you need to ask yourself – how are you going to do it?

That's got to be encouraging. Good to hear. On the flip-side, that's a bummer......no more burgers and pizza.....

What did you even do to it? I haven't been following but got hooked on something else you wrote in another thread and am now curious lol.

I herniated the same disc for the 5th time.

It actually is doing very well right now so getting back to training is likely going to happen in a week or two. If my plate weren't so full I would likely push going back next week.

                          A tight right hip flexor.
