  • Creatine (cycle questions)???

    i will be buying creatine (met-rx micronized creatine 2lbs.) and starting a cycle that looks like this:

    Week 1: 20g per day - loading
    Week 2: 10g per day - maint.
    Week 3: 10g per day - maint.
    Week 4: 10g per day - maint.
    Week 5: 20g per day - loading
    Week 6: off
    Week 7: off
    Week 8: off
    Week 9-16: repeat

    now for a few questions:
    1. is this a good cycle?
    2. will the creatine powder last 4 months, be ok for use?
    3. should i take 5g every 3 hours (4 times a day), during the loading phase?
    4. should i take 5g every morning and night, during the maint. phase?

    I don't recommend loading. I think that 5-10g post workout only depending on weight is just fine for people and is extremely effective.

      Antihero you are 150 pounds if i remember right? If I were you I would take about 5 grams directly postworkout. Just take it on training days also.

              Agreed with the above.
              Creatine affects appetite in many so splitting it up over many doses can be ineffecient in that way.
              Real food contributes to more gains than anything esle ..everything else is just a supplement.
              the loading and multi-dosing through out the days was just hype by the supplement companies to make more money.
              Someone did a study on loading versus just taking an even dose for 4-6 weeks and the only difference was that the loaders excreted a lot more creatine out..gains were about the same.

              I am ~290 and will take about 20 grams of creatine per day........I recommend people take 10 grams a day for 4-6 weeks. one dose after training and one dose in their night time shake as not to kill appetite.
              AT 150 lbs you nedd to eat the kitchen sink and the plumbing.
