I tore my left quad two years ago in exactly the spot that I'd given myself an injection just weeks before.Took 6 months to get my legs back on track and was the worst pain I've ever experienced.
I recommend that guys stay away from quad injections for this very reason...I would hate for anyone to go through what I did
Dude, I TRIED to stick my quad and just said to hell with this and went back to delts and glutes. I honestly dont see how anyone can take doing their quads !

i hear ya guys! It took me this long to even attempt and never again! Delts and glutes it is! I dont know if i did something wrong or it just is this sore from it being the first ever injection. I hope it's nothing serious. It is very tight but when i stretch it the pain subsides and i can keep stretching it further so that is a good sign.

it seems to be loosening up a bit today. i can put more weight on it. I have legs on Monday. Should I keep my regular routine or change it? I know if it feels ok to go ahead but if it is still very sore could I hurt it worse or is it ok to hit it hard?

I never had issues with quad injections, in fact it is one of my favorite places to hit. I use a 25 gauge, 1 inch, and hit the center of the thigh, going off to the outside about 2"
Never hit glutes, I always like delts, tris, and quads. Tris have to be one of the smoothest injections I have experienced

Never had any problems. When you are doing ed injects I certainly like to rotate the sites to keep scar tissue from building up. Learned my lesson on that one!
Quads has to be my favourite spot to hit. It's just easier to reach and work with then most others. But the downside is that it seems to get alot more sore than most other muscles and that won't change. Chances are it'll still get very sore after each time. Especially if you are using very concentrated gear (250mg/ml or greater) Stretching seems to help especially during the day of and day after the injection. I think the number one thing is make sure you put the needle in deep enough! If you use a 1" pin and only push it in part way I can almost guarantee that it will be very sore the next day.
Another good question is what did you inject? Some gear is much worst than others for post-injection pain.
I also love quads
With HRT they are a must
My wife will hit my glutes, delts, & tri's for me, but quads are just too easy
First few times though, they will knot up if you don't time the shot at least 45-60 seconds per cc, or if you use sust or prop or any high BA vet gear (T400 is the worst)
I can't hit my glutes myself, so I used quads for the first few years I gave my own shots. Unfortunately, susp shots & a couple of years of HRT have built up a BUNCH of scar tissue in the good spot of the glutes and they tend to bleed a lot now.

Agreed I don't have anything to back it up other than FH's experience and my theroy on build up of scar tissue.........but I'd say the assesment is spot on.
I have done biceps only once triceps never and quads 2 times.
I have even used Grays Anatomy charts in the book to try and find the right areas but in the case of biceps and quads they were extremely sore.
Sore enough to not be able to train them and to me what's the use of taking something when you can't train it? Also as FH mentioned-a sore area is/can be a weak area succeptable to a tear or strain.
Also in the case of thigh injections-I have read of more cases of sterile abscesses in the thigh area than any other bodypart.
There are a ton of nerves in the thighs and a large bolus of oil can be viewed as foreign material ie an infection and the body react to it.
My same theory applies for high dosed gear and or high solvent laden gear-the alcohol and or the crystalline formation in the depot of the injection site are/can be painful and cause fever and fatigue-especially fina kit made tren and people end up sick and lose the appetite and can't train and I say so what's the use of juicing? I know you guys have seen posts on other boards of newbies crying about the associated side effects from T400 QV Enanthate etc.
I got some pics showing where to pop for a hip injection which is where an ex girl friend of mine who was a Nurse Practio0ner showed me to put "B-12" shots in I'll post pics later on tonite of anatomyareas but if you wanna a detailed picture/outline for other areas go here: www.spotinjections.com :flex: :flex:
Nice post MG..Thank you. I really want to encourage you guys to think twice about shooting your quads.I know the whole thought process that goes into it...I remember when I first got too big (or too inflexible...LOL) to reach around to shoot my glutes and the quads seemed like the logical place to go to.As MG said, I have nothing to base this but my own experience but let me say this--any time you inject anything into a muscle you are in effect injuring that muscle (with the needle) thus compromising the muscles ability to contract fully(certainly in the area of the injury/injection).When I was coming up (squatting when i tore my quad) I could feel my left quad contracting and when the contraction got to the area of injury (from my previous shot) obviously the muscle was not strong enough to contract and had no choice but to tear....Please forgive the simplicity of my explaination, I don't have any technical jargon to spew here, I'm only relaying what happened.
Nowdays I'm a much bigger fan of delt/arm/glute injections
I'll stick to delts and glutes...lol! Live and learn eh!
