I secretly also have other 80s music on my ipod, too. Like:

Springsteen's Born in the USA album
    Mike and the Mechanics
    Def Leppard Hysteria album
    Dire Straits
    Georgia Satellites
    Prince

    • I found a new phone app called Songza. It has playlists to match your mood: Aggressive, lonely etc. OR to match your activity: Backyard BBQ, driving on a road trip. Its like Pandora, but with more variety. Right now I have it tuned to Early West Coast punk: Germs, Dead Kennedys, 45 Grave, Circle Jerks. Its free.
Family Guy but also; Old School SoCal, punk rock loving, powerlifting, hardcore gym rat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtLQ73EutoY

I just discovered this song and had it on auto play for my entire workout. It was in the movie High Fidelity. Irish punk band, Stiff Little Fingers. Irish IRA/problems stuff. This is some HEAVY shxt from way back in 1979. Speed and intensity that has transcended time. More intense than 99.9% of the "punk" stuff nowadays. I happened upon it listening to Songza the Tony Hawk playlist. His playlist is old school punk, hip hop, and hard rock.

Thanks for this. Songza is great. Way better than Pandora or Spotify.

I was a teenager in the 90's and was influenced a lot by Rapcore and NuMetal that was out at the time. But love the hard stuff and old school rock as well. Heavy and fast is great, but get into the growling and screaming stuff in deathcore, grindcore, etc.

            I love hitting PRs to

            "Before I Forget" - Slipknot.
            "RU486" - Stonesour
"N*ggas in Paris, Djent /Rapcore Cover" - Hacktivist (Cannot say enough as to how much this song gets me going)
            "Remember to Forget" - Otep

Also there are just some songs that put me in a great mood to lift. When they come up on my ipod I can't help but be in a good mood, drum along on whatever piece of equipment I'm using.

"Only" - Anthrax (The Sound of White Noise is my favorite Anthrax album. I'm guessing it has a lot to do with being in the grudge era. Was called "the most perfect pure metal song" by Metallica
"Whole Lotta Rosie" - AC/DC (Just love the guitar solo)
"Born to Raise Hell" - MotorHead ft. Ice-T

I would post youtube links but I don't have enough posts yet to do so :/

Nice, I just listened to that one and its going on my playlist. I like rock/rap mashups.

Here is the best one I have found by Led Snoopelin (Zeppelin and Snoop):
              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwuwH8kQweA

This is the next best (Ted Nugent and Tech9ine):

Here is a new one I just heard (Zach De La Rocha from Rage Against the Machine in a rap collab with Run the Jewels) CLOSE YOUR EYES AND COUNT TO F*CK

                • definitely agree on the slipknot... i'm not too big of a rap guy anymore but if i'm listening to rap its going to be kanye west or chance the rapper. they're too chill for lifting so i've limited my lifting music to the following albums:

the poison by bullet for my valentine
play your old stuff by underoath
scary kids scarying kids (self titled album)
for those who have heart by a day to remember
                  monument by miss may i

then i have some various sad songs because i use lifting to release emotions and stuff too so it helps get me to that place where i can put them into the bar and let go of them.

oh and heres an app i have on all my devices that tracks what i listen to:http://www.last.fm/user/nahka69
add me if anyone else has it
