  • Every Other Day DC

Just an idea I thought I would run across yall since this is the home of DC training.

Instead of mon/wed/fri training what if it was broken up over just eod?

This way 12 total weeks would make a full "blast cycle". It would have 1 week you work out 3 days, the next 4.

I just came off a 3day on 1 off program and have fairly fast recovery. I do think that just 3days a week is a little
excess for me at the moment though and EOD would more efficiently work (for now, up till rest because a limiting issue again)

Here is an image of the idea broken up over A1,A2,A3 and B1,B2,B3 on corresponding days.

Don't do it. That extra day of rest makes all the difference, and can lengthen a blast significantly. If EOD were better, that's what Dante would tell you to do.

I trained with much higher frequency before DC and I did well, but put on no appreciable size. I think it may be possible for the body to get "comfortable" with a certain routine and it takes a new approach to kick start the gains (enter DC training).

The extra day of rest will allow you to have the opportunity to ensure your body is completely refreshed and recovered and I have found that it is the perfect time to make any adjustments to my nutrition and evaluate progress. IMO, in the long run you will better off sticking to DC as is prescribed by Dante and be able to string your blasts out farther thus leading to more growth. My $0.02...

                      lol

Yeah sometimes I pop a dumb question. Hey it was a long 3 hour American History class, I'm sure you would have come up with something dumb during that time also haha

It's cool though, thus the reasoning for me asking it here with those who have experience in DC

My reasoning asking for thread to be deleted was to not clutter up the form. This could serve as a good addition to the newb questions though so leaving it up might be just as productive.

I actually tried this...it worked for me, but lower back started giving me issue's...when you have heavy squats, deads, SLDL, rack deads etc in the blast you need that extra day!

                            Its cool I have faith.
Just coming off a much higher frequency program so feels weird being in only 3 days a week vs the nearly 6 I was in previously.

Have faith and trust in the program. I'm sure by the 4th week and I am seeing big increases in my lifts I will be hooked and not wanting anymore rest either Progression in upperbody movements has been pretty stagnate for me when it comes to lbs being moved. I have grown yeah, but haven't gotten much stronger. Could be some genetic, probably mostly is, but then again I throw rest to my girl and my buds whenever they have an issue and it makes all the difference in the world.
