    Think about those two exercises, the size of the targeted muscles, and the ways in which you can work them. That should explain it...

      Also, there are so many exercises for quads that are better for progressive overload, but not so many with hamstrings.

          Look at the main quad exercises:

          Squats, hack squats, leg presses, split leg squats, lunges, sissy squats

          Now look at the main hamstring exercises:

          Leg curl variations, SLDL, RDL, GHR

          So yeah, then there's the fact that leg curls work the hamstrings differently (so do GHRs though) than SLDL/RDLs. Besides, leg extensions fuck with a lot of people's knees.
