  • Changes, Changes

I had to remodel my training drastically.

After training DC style for almost a year (a year as of January) there have been a good number of exercises I had topped out on, but have been too stubborn to change.

So many exercises were changed I'm going to need to take a cruise just to prepare myself for all the new ones.

Also, ramming my head against a wall in exercises I was topped out in depleted me faster. It took me 4 weeks to feel tired. (I normally blast for 8-10 weeks)

I'll be taking a cruise to prepare myself for the new blast. 2 weeks is the standard, hopefully my energy levels will return after 1 week (thank God for my age).

Any of you had the same issue of being too stubborn to drop exercises you were topped out on?

        Nah, this occurred over time.

Also, the exercises I thought I was just having off-days with so I didn't mention them to him. The gains became molasses slow, they didn't stop. So I didn't consider I was topped out, I just took it as me sucking.

Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me...

would only making minor improvments like 2.5lbs on each side be considered to slow of progress? Ive been only going up on certain exercises in those increments but i am moving forward ... just not as fast as i would like

You MUST work through it. Mental pauses like this only hold you up in the long run.
Hell, I have been lifting for almost as long as you've been on earth. At 150 pounds I will do 225 bench presses for reps of 8-10. My max is almost 300 NEVER got it but I will NEVER complain about it either. BOTTOM LINE IS THAT GAINS COME OVER TIME- PERIOD.

Anyway kahn, yeah, i've been like you too.. sigh, shouldn't be too stubborn. Most of the time i just attribute it to being an off day and not beating the logbook is ok. But fuck it, now it ain't ok and changes hae to be made. No mercy to the logbook khan! If you do have a small hiccup, employ a new strategy and kick its ass from behind..

Thanks IH. You're always setting me straight. Prepare for 220+ with pics! As soon as I get to weigh myself.

                          Time for the next level!

Side note: I have dropped all of the ones I was topped out on. Don't worry, once I recognize a problem I quit doing it.
