The Horror of Clothes Shopping

I have a date. I needed to get new clothes. I am one of those guys who doesnt shop. I wear the same crap until it vaporizes. Plus all I do is work and train so its either my work clothes or sweat pants. But not today.

I go to the store to try to get some new pants, a nice shirt and a leather jacket. I havent shopped since pre-DC. I am now almost 50lbs heavier. I'm still 5'5".

So what we have here is a 5'5" 220+ lb walking fire hydrant with stubby arms and legs. Off the rack clothes are not made to fit me.

Tried some 34" waist pants. They fit my waist but I cant get my thighs into them. Had to go up to 38" with a belt to hold them up. Also have to have the friggin' legs tailored a bit since I'm so goddamn short they are dragging on the ground.

Tried for a button down dress shirt. Forget it. Not happening. Not in this store anyway. And Im not going to 10 places looking for a shirt. Settled on a nice pullover the head shirt XXL

Jacket wasnt too bad. Just get a big one and fold the sleeves up.

So I'm in my new gear and I feel like a A BIG FAT BLOATED FREAK OF NATURE! And the scary part is Im really not that big. USMuscle is my height, well an inch taller, and 25-30lbs heavier. I can only imagine what he goes through. I cant even guess what it must be like for someone 5'10" and well over 300+.

I hate shopping. I just want to wear sweat pants and shirts that say "If the bar aint bendin' you're just pretendin'".

Clothes? Yea, you can forget about looking good in clothe froms now on. I mean you can still look decent, but it's really hard to find pieces that will look good on you. Shirts are the hardest thing, at our height they are either too big and hang down to your knees or they are too tight. Even the ones that fit decently in the shoulders and arms are too long Pants are pretty bad, too. Yuou really have to get something that fits pretty baggy a couple sizes too big and belt it up. That's about your only choice. Warning: you will look fat in everything. LOL

nah man the really fun part is putting on a pair of jeans that you really like but havent worn for a while. then having trouble getting them over your thighs and suddenly being way to short. finally realizing that those jeans that use to fit you so well 1 month ago now make you look gay and very imobilized. Thats exactly what happened to me today.

UGH! Story of my life! I think it is even worse for us girls. I cannot find a single pair of jeans that fits. In order to get the legs to fit I have I kid you not like 6 inches in the waist. Shirts and bras no go either unless they are baggy. Not designed for people with v taper. Going shopping with me has always been bad but it is now a horrible nightmare.

I honestly think someone needs to start a clothing line. If I had the funds and the knowledge I'd be all over it. It is really out of hand. I went shopping just the other day to find some clothes for work and I came home crying. I cannot find anything that fits and I'm not even that big compared to a lot of the girls. TLM I feel for ya!

Well I basically have a pair of shorts and a pair of sweats that I wear and then its mostly undershirts just around the house and my gym T-shirts. I also have my Jackets and ties like Dress clothes that I have to wear to school everyday. What I have found the hardest to buy are bathing suits. Forget it there impossible to buy. I had one that actaully fit me and I lost it in florida go figure lol. Even though I look like a bum most of the time I dont care at all.
