I've been reading a few threads on other boards about people using low GI carbs such as oatmeal instead of high gi carbs in their post workout shakes. Do any of you guys use oatmeal or something similar in your post-workout shakes?

No, but I use a 50/50 mix of maltodextrin/dextrose. Malto is technically a complex carb, so yea, that's my complex carb right there along with the simple dextrose. -

The problem with Malto is that it can cause less gastric distress, compare to simple sugars, because it does not force the body to send water to the Intestines to digest it, it does have a higher oxidation rate in the muscles...Comment
