  • Dips/triceps stretch

Ok, i was wondering if you guys thought it would make much of a difference to switch to the dip machine instead of doing normal dips, because i find it hard to rp dips even in the 15-30 range. Any of you guys use the dip machine instead? OR should i just throw dips out all together and do smith reverse cgbp, because my other two exercies are smith cgbp and DB skullcrushers. Also i dont feel the stretch in my tri's with the stretch dc describes, are there any other alternatives?

    thnx

jnj, if the dip machine works well for you, then go for it. the reverse smith bench is a nice exercise though.

for the stretch you can do anything that stretches them, as long as it works well for you...

heres another one you can play around with. find a smith, set the bar at about chest height. make sure you're facing it so if you rotated your hands upward you would be moving the hooks toward the safties. duck your head under the bar and stand up into a tri extension position, try to relax if possible and let the bar move downward into a stretch as much as possible. you might need to play with it a little bit before it works well for you.

thnx bro, i will try that stretch. but if you had to choose one, would you go with reverse cgbp or dip machine because i already have a cgbp movement although reverese is a big different.

      any other responses?

      thnx

Either is fine, but if you choose the dip "machine", I'd suggest that you pull the pin out of the stack (that helps lift you) and soon you'll be strapping some extra weights to your belt or something.

        good luck

I personally hate dips,,, they absolutely mess my shoulders up faster than any other exercise for some reason

Sorry JnJ, there are different types of dip machines, the one your using is the one that your belted on to a seat and you just push the handles down on the sides of the chair, correct?

If so, forget about what I said.

Why do you belt yourself in?, what do you weigh like a buck 25 or something...

JnJ23, There is no such thing as a exercise that you cannot do in this program, if you can RP it out and kill it every time you rotate back to it with good form, and it works for a while without topping it out or stagnating to quickly, then do it...

175-180lb's IH, not too big but im trying. Whenever i use the dip machine i belt myself in because the weight i use always pushes me up and i find it easier to focus more on my tri's when belted down.

nono, i always use perfect form, i leave my ego at the door, there is no one im trying to impress, but better myself. i go as heavy as i possibly can with perfect form.

Also IH, do you know of any other alternatives to tricep stretch, mstevem gave me one and im going to try that, but you know of any other's?
