  • Reps rest-paused

    At a "Cross-roads" of sorts.....for the initial run through DC I kept the reps rest paused around 13-18ish. Then for my 2nd run through I lowered the reps rest paused down to 7-12.

    Took a break week and am rearing to go, but I can't decide; should I go with the heavier weight and lower reps paused, or lighter weight and higher reps rest paused. Both gave excellent gains, so it's not as simple as 1 sucks, the other owns.

    Opinions?

    11-15 for upper body dammit, just coming off a break or cruise you will use less weight to get started then you will be right back up and passing the previous weights...

        Like InHuman I like to do as lower reps as possible. So an overall set--rp included--pans out to around 11-12 reps, which for one who's predominantly fast twitch fibred is about right. Best of luck on your new cycle... keep us updated on how you go/grow?

            Yeah, I average around 12 reps. You see in the past I have tested my TUL on various occasions--years apart--and each time I found I can only get away with a handful of reps due to possessing predominantly fast twitch muscle fibres. A previous training partner could never grasp why he enjoyed high reps and me low ones until I explained how it works. I guess I'm more sprinter orientated than long distance runner!

              yea; the only thing i wonder(ed) at times was going below 10 rest paused too heavy. I mean, I made progress on it, but I wonder if I made better progress keeping r/p'd slightly higher. Ho hum, just thinking out loud, don't mind me

                    I like to hit anywhere from 13-15 myself w/ heavy weight. Anything lower I fail on reps.
