  • Great Machine

    Today at the gym i did my normal haevy set of barbell squats, but I can never do my set of 20 with the barbell so I have to go to something else so today since I am in a new gym now I tried a vertical leg press machine for my set of 20. I love this machine its great.

    Yea I love the Leg Press for my 20 repper. Well, sometimes I do it on the smith, sometimes on the leg press. We just got a new one and it's actually adjustable this time, the last one wasn't. Silly, discriminating-against-short-bodybuilders people.

      Have you ever used the vertical one where you like lay on your back and push straight up. Its great

          It's not that, it's just that doing a 20 repper free weight is just dangerous.

              Yea i dont mess with the 20 rep free weight. But today I was soo happy. It was the first time I squatted over 200 pounds since I tore my miniscus. I got 205 for 6 reps I know not much but its a great accomplishment for me.

                I personally do not like the vertical leg press...feel it too much in my back

                  must be nice to have a choice of leg press machne. i have one choice or no choice. Man, my gym needs some new stuff

                    I feel your pain when it comes to knee injuries. Im currently only able to leg press and cant put too much pressure on the knees. So squatting is out of the question for a while.

                        Is the vertical leg press machine the one where you lie on your back and press straight up? If so, I suggest NOT using it for your 20 repper.
                        This machine, although great for hams, is notorious for shooting your blood pressure through the roof due to the low placement of the upper body and head. Not worth bursting a blood vessel, especially in your head. I burst one in my face a while back doing flat benches, and even a week later people were asking me if I got into a fight. :Punch:
