Hey guys. I would done this over at MM but I just dont think I'd get the advice I'm looking for over there.
Since I'm muslim every year I have to fast for a month. This means from somewhere around 5-6am to 3-4pm. No food, no water, nothing for that period of time. Kinda like sleeping only you cant sleep lol.
At the moment i work out at around 7.30 am which is like not gonna be possible while fasting since i wont even be able to have a post workout shake. So my workout time is gonna move to around 9.30pm or so.
I was hoping for some help from you guys to figure out the best things to do while fasting to hold onto muscle and still be able to workout.
I mean if I can still eat from 4pm onwards until 5-6am then that means its jus reversing my usual intake i think. Because when i sleep from 10pm-6pm, i get nothing in.
So heres what its kinda lookin like right now
5am - Pre fasting meal
6am - the fasting begins
4pm- Post fasting meal
7pm - Meal
9.30pm - Workout
11pm - Post workout Shake
12 am - Post workout Meal
3am - Middle of sleep Shake.
Ok so thats how i was looking at it. I'd still get 6 meals in, I'd have to wake up to take a shake but i think thats important to keep feeding my body.
I was wondering what kind of stuff i should be eating or drinking before the fast begins and when I stop fasting. I know its gonna have to be alot of protein and probably plenty of carbs before the fast begins, but what about afterwards?
And since the postworkout meal is right before i sleep should it still consist of carbs?
