  • psyching yourself up....

    how long does it usually takes? can you do it everytime in the gym? what do you think about?

    it usually takes me 2-3 minutes of concentration, and i think about how big i want to be

      I have sex with my girlfriend before going into the gym. Also, I rip peopel off the day before for gym memberships because I care about me and only me! I am the greatest salesman ever! Boiler Room baby! My nuts are still on the small side, though, thank god for Cialis!

        Psyching up? How long? I have already posted my "light switch" analogy. How long does it take to flick on a switch? That's me. Can I do it every time? No. When I get to a point of being overtrained or being ill I just can't focus. I think about two things during the entire set: my technque and not failing. I want to use solid form and I don't want some inanimate piece of shit metal to stop me from moving it as much as I want to.

          again, I like the powerlifting catmosphere at the gym I train at.

          It's an inner drive for me at times. But when the end of the day is drawing near, sometimes I can use an "outside" source.

            music psyches me up then i make myself shake all over if its a really hard set of deads but usually music does the trick everytime. i usually stay psyched throughout my workout though i just go to an even higher level for the super hard lifts that use most of my body.

              right before sets i only think about how i'm going to kill that weight. first i try to hit the goal of reps for that new weight, then i try to crush it if that makes sense.

                worked out with inhuman yesterday and i def needed to pysche myself up ,,i usually have a ritual ,, on the way to the gym i blast ac/dc highway to hell & thunderstruck

                    Gr8pe: i personally don't psych myself up.. i don't have a fixed way of thinking or whatever at least. Once i get the weight of the bar, thats when i'm pumped and ready to go.

                    Had a period once when everybody was talking bout concentration and psyching up to get the best results.. tried it but hell.. last night's blondes kept flasing in my mind. This was a waste of time fore me. I just take my rest, get under the weight and push. Whtever suits you bro.. but its not for me.

                      jp that was the first time we worked out and i got lucky cause he was sick,, but this time,, IH kicked my ass my back is sore from handing him those fucking 150lb db he tosses around like toys..
