  • A newbie to the board

I'm usually not one for formal introductions, but I thought this would be good for my first post. I'm 25 yrs. old, have been lifting for about 8 years (with varying degrees of success - most of the time, not much) and my frustration came to a head about two weeks ago.
I had heard about DC training for a while, but really tried to study it in-depth two weeks ago. It made sense, I started gorging myself with protein, and I started it last week.
It's been seven days, but it was the best week of workouts in my life - bar none. My muscles felt different, it was intense and it was fulfilling. It's been a long time since I've been able to say that.
Don't want to be too long with this, but I just wanted to introduce myself to the board. This seems like an awesome place - lots of advice, tips, etc. - and I'm excited big-time about what I can do in this program. Thanks all.

One quick questions: 1. I must have missed the part about olive oil. What's the bnefits of this?

Thanks a lot, will add that quickly to my diet.
Like I said, I'm pretty jacked about the possibilities with this program. I've always used high intensity with training, but the program and the advice I've sought - which mostly leads to overtraining - has been flawed.
This is just perfect for me on so many levels.
Here's a quick rundown of the exercises:
Chest: Dumbell bench, Incline barbell, Decline barbell
Shoulders: Smith Machine Press, Dumbell Press, Hammer machine
Triceps: Skullcrushers, Close Grip Smith Machine, Reverse Grip
Back Width: Pulldowns, Pullups, Seated Rows
Thickness: Barbell Rows, Deadlifts, Smith Machine Barbell

Biceps: Barbell Curl, Dumbbell Curl, Preacher EZ Bar Curl
Forearms: Reverse Grip Barbell, Hammer Curl, Reverse Grip Cable Curl
Calves: Calf Machine, Leg Press Machine, Standing Calf Raise
Hamstrings: Leg Curl, SLDL, Sumo Press
Quads: Squat, Leg Press, Hack Squat

And one final thought, because of my work schedule, I was planning on working out on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. (Fridays are packed). Will that work?

bro,,, wait until a couple of months go by that is when you will notice the major difference... The best is yet to come.

Your exercises look straight to me anyone else want to chime in.

Yeah, I can't wait to see some progress in a couple months. I haven't been this excited about going to the gym since, well, I can't remember. Probably when I benched 135 for the first time (yes, i was a pathetic weakling in high school, 147 lbs. my senior year).
Thanks for all the input and advice. This is such an awesome weightlifting site. By far the best I've ever been on. The help and conversations are great.

Thanks guys for all the welcomes. It feels great to be here and I've already learned so much in the 2 weeks since i've been looking on this site. So much so that I've re-read everything - several things multiple times.
Had a great leg/biceps day yesterday. Thanks all for the encouragment again.
