  • Hey everybody...

Here's my situation. Right now I am 5' 9" at 170 lbs. on a good day. By next football season I would like to be at least 200 lbs. I play fullback and middle linebacker for my high school. Anyway, I am stuck in school for most the time and I was wondering if I should be on weight gainer or something like that. I am currently taking Creatine once a day and some cheap protein once a day. What do you guys recommend I do?

like tpc said. pound food down the hatch and lift some shit heavy weights. if you have trouble getting in all your calories then a good weight gainer could help. but it is no substitute for actual food

From the sound of it, you are one of the guys that has alot to learn about both nutrition and training. (or atleast nutrition) So go read up on that. There's alot of info in here already, and specifics about different aspects of nutrition is all over the web.
Just read and learn, bro. Took me 3 years to understand that I had to eat more. :P If you think you are eating alot, and still not gaining.. man, you're just not eating enough.

I hate to sound like an ass but someone needs to...

I'd really look into seeking out another program instead of this one for training as it is pretty obvious that you don't have much experience at all. This program requires quite a bit of knowledge of one's own body, their training and their nutrition. If you come into this forum asking questions like that, it's more than obvious that this type of training is not for you...

Now to answer your question, I'd just go with a regular split and eat, eat and eat. As simple as it was, tpc said it best. Try doing some research on nutrition. In fact, check out the thread about bulking by bigp3. Contains some very good information.

            This is my brother-

I sent him here only for more nutrition knowledge, He is not a bodybuilder so he will not be doing DC style training. More Ply-os along with basic compound lifts. I know some of you are in school and I thought perhaps there were some creative people here that had good ideas for eating while in HS.

              Rebel,
6 meals every day. Large amount of protein at each meal. 3 solid meals and three large protein shakes is fine.
Keep your eating simple. Just take in a lot of food, focus on your training and everything will come together.

OHHHHH. Yea I was wondering because you he was only asking about nutrition on the Dogg Pound but I decided to warn him against DC anyway.

                As for eating in school...

Do you have a car? Can you make trips out to your car in between classes? That's your best way to fit 'meals' in. Also at lunch, bring a shake in a non-descript container if possible. Trust me, people get insanely nosey once they see a GNC shaker bottle or what have you.

That is about all the advice I can offer, eating between classes was very easy for me as I had understanding teachers AND there was a place called the Technology Center that you had to drive to for your classes there that was away from school grounds.

Best ways to fit meals in are to drive somewhere? You gotta be kidding?

The best way to eat is hit 3-4 meals. Breakfast, Lunch, After School and Dinner. Add a protein shake after training and before bed. Make your food to take to school if you want as well. See how simple that was? With 4 real meals and 2 shakes you are getting about 6 meals.

Um.. if I understood it correctly, he meant going out to the parking space to eat between classes. Might be wrong, but thats how I understood it.
My school had a fridge where students could put their food in if they wanted to bring some.. and a microwave just beside it. I used that alot.

Ah, I stand corrected. Still could be seen as sketchy too. As a teacher I would wonder why a student kept going to their car all the time.

                            Welcome aboard, Rebel.

Eat, eat, eat...and then eat some more. I thought that was synonymous with young male. Educate yourself, the sooner the better, on basic nutrition. Good luck.

Ok I am a junior in highschool so I know all about this. What I have been doing is bringing 2 protein shakes with me to school a day. Blend them up in the morning with some oatmeal or olive oil, I usually do one of each. Then i pour them into water bottles and pop them in the freezer and then bring them with me to school. They are quick and easy, and they stay cold all day.
