I know how you feel. Heres what I say you do. Train hard as shit. Your calves aren't used to all that walking, but after a couple of weeks you'll be fine, and you'll be glad that you decided to keep training.

I'm the same way. I ride my bike to class, and it blasts the hell out of my hams. I'm growing accustomed to it, so I'm glad I am still training them.

I will admit though, last wmonday I hammered some SLDL's for the hams, and they were still too sore/tight to work out on Friday. I guess i need more food and to stretch more!

Somethings wrong when the Achilles tendon aches. Sore calves is fine...muscle damage is not a problem but a tendon rupture is serious and this is a possibility when the achilles tendon is hurting. This is not normal for me in calf training..my calves ache for 2-3 days but my achiles tendon never hurts. Hes doing something wrong and MUST stop and evaluate. Its possible its caused by too much "hopping" and not controlling the weight. Ballistic pushoffs will tear tendons. Area must be warmed up and this are should be rested until doing calves does not involve the achilles tendon.
