  • quads not sore

Ok just did a 20 rep set of hacks yesterday and was expecting to wake up extermely sore this morning. I woke up and am just barely sore. My quads never get sore anymore no matter what I do. Any of you guys know why this is? Thanks alot

At first i'd be sore the next day but not anymore. pain is not always an indicator of how hard you worked. Aslong as your continually increasing the weight and making gains then your growing.

No pain isn't always an indicator but legs have always been my strength and I always was sore after I trained them. So there could be other factors coming into play POTENTIALLY. I suggest reviewing your log and seeing if you can pick up on any patterns. Maybe that will turn a light on for you. Then again, you may just be a freak that isnt sore.

I don't get real sore in the legs w/ DC training but I puke and waddle after my workouts and it hurts like hell so I know something is working. I get sore in some parts like chest(always) but some parts never.

You know what guys I have to say this, thats bullshit cause if you ain't sore you didn't do shit, I don't care what anyone says, you train hard enough, intense enough the lactic acid will be there and the pain is an indicator that you just kicked your ass and you will grow. No I have no studies or scientific exidence just a little experience, I hurt bad, I grow, plain and simple.

No I never have been sore from high volume, but lifting heavy and brief workouts I get sore and I grow, ok yes, I have a better than normal recouperation ability, so inturn I must push myself harder to make gains especially at my age.

I really wish I could find this sob who made this shit up about soreness means nothing, I have never bought it and I beleive the old adage, "No pain, no gain" and of course you can take that anyway you see fit, not joint pains the next day or tears or strains from being stupid, but hard heavy ass lifting and constant progression in weight and or reps will make you sore and you will grow.

Just my getting tired .02 cents worth...

Well vomitting isn't anything that NECSSARILY means you are working either. Just that alot of blood is pooling in the legs. See, if your location was in the SQUAT RACK then you'd REALLY be feeling it. LMAO!!! Just kidding. I do understand, even when I worked my bi's faithfully, they almost NEVER were sore. And really, other than stiffness and bad pain, I don't know that I have had any real soreness in my delts either. I probably have the circulation of a 90 year old woman on Miami Beach.

In-Human maybe it was just that I did not go heavy enough for my set of 20 that I am not feeling it that much. I was a little tired and had a headache when I went to the gym yesterday (first day of school) so my strength was down a little but my legs were too strong for the weight I was using, if that makes any sense lol.

Totally agree, love being sore---means I have done something and 1st thing in the morning..tense everything, and pray to god I am sore.

Everytime I strive to be sore...however, (yes I counted), my shoulders have only ever been sore once--yet obviously they have grown, so to a degree soreness does mean nothing!

Note: I used to play around with rep tempo, and found bodyparts had DOMs alot more due to slow negatives. Thus soreness comes from growth and originates from controlled negatives ???? just a theory :tread:

Damn rackit? Is that what i do too or is that what i do? LMAO! Thats exactly what happens every morning to me after yesterday's gym session!! If i do wake up for a short period of time in the middle of the night, i'd resist every single temptation to squeeze the worked body parts cos i know leaving them to 'suffer' throughout the rest of the night would provide for a more 'enjoyable and satisfying' feeling in the morning! haha! Feeling the muscles sore just makes the day that much better, and makes you more motivated(regardless of whether one actyually grows from being sore.. its just me) Bottomline: just beat the damn logbook and stfu

Today I woke up and I was incredibly sore, it must have been a hard session. I was tensing my jaw so hard even my teeth hurt. I might just relax in my shed allday recovering!

Theres a picture of me attached

gym rat, if you didnt go heavy enough, you would have been able to get more than 20 for the 20 repper. i like being sore b/c it feels kind of rewarding and makes me want to eat more food. my opinion on the 'soreness means nothing' thing is: who cares - if you beat your logbook every time at max intensity you are progressing. there are tons of people that are insanely sore after their workouts, yet they never make any type of progression whatsoever, so soreness alone cannot be a definate indicator of progression. i do think its useful to gauge recovery, and i do beleive you will probably be sore if you truly pushed yourself to the limits. oh and gymrat - wait until tomorrow and see how sore you are then. sometimes soreness doesnt peak until around the 2nd day.

Lactic acid is in your system is gone between 12-24 hours after you lift, and DOMS takes over, if you were intense enough to cause DOMS and that is recouperation in order to grow, coupled with an adaquet amount of protein...

Here lets quit bullshitting around and lollygagging it. Ive yet to see someone do a 20 rep compound quad exercise IN TRUE DC TRAINING INTENSITY who didnt feel like a bus hit them the next day. So Im sorry to be so blunt but you guys that arent feeling anything maybe shouldnt even be in this forum because Im telling you right now, you do not have what it takes to do this right. Ive trained enough people to tell who half-asses this and who seriously goes to the well and back. Just the fact that you said "did my 20 rep set" tells me a great deal-If you really pushed the limits you would of said "tried my 20 rep set yesterday and only got 18" BECAUSE IT WAS SO BRUTALLY HARD. Just 2 years ago there were only hardcore people doing DC training and now there seems to be a "hey lets jump on the DC bandwagon because everyone else seems to be gaining" bunch of lame ass trainers doing it now--IM HERE TO BE THE ASS IN ALL THIS BECAUSE IM NOT LETTING IT HAPPEN. GO GET YOUR HEAVIEST AND I MEAN ABSOLUTE HEAVIEST HACK SQUAT FOR 10 REPS YOUVE EVER DONE---now take that weight and I DONT CARE HOW THE FUCK YOU DO IT, I DONT CARE IF YOU DIE WHILE DOING IT, I DONT CARE IF YOU TAKE 20 BREATHES (WITHOUT RACKING IT) BETWEEN EVERY REP FROM 11 TO 20 BUT YOU FIND SOME WAY -SOMEHOW TO GET TO 20, AND if AFTER THAT STILL---YOU COME IN HERE THE NEXT MORNING AND SAY "HEY IM STILL NOT SORE"---Ill quit

Im not going to let the profileration of people who think they are hardcore to the bone but who are truly candyasses do this training that has my name on it--no way in hell. And Ive seen alot of that lately--too much--every lame trainer around is trying to do this kind of training now thinking its the missing link and it pisses me off. You know why your not growing? Because you are a lame trainer bottom line. You have one chance with the logbook and this is low volume training which means you have one chance at doing it right. YOU WANT TO TELL ME TO FUCK OFF FOR BEING AN ASS TO YOU THEN FINE, BUT YOU ARENT GOING TO DO MY METHODS LIKE A 13 YEAR OLD GIRLSCOUT WITHOUT ME SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT IT
