Sounds good, not many people get the shoulder stretch down very quickly.

it hurts, lol, and it looks fuckin retardedly painful but i def feel it, and with the stretching my joints are more forgiving now i figured it would be opposite
i also made it to only 1min 28sec on the wide grip stretch, thats with bdw only too, i figure 342lb hanging is ok for the first week, lol
i got off the bar and almost vomited, lol

iv'e never really been able to feel the wide grip stretch. my forearms start to hurt long before my back stretches. i like to do the bent over pulling on something stationary one. it hurts like hell all the way down the length of the lat. the shoulder one is brutal though isn't it

Yea same here HH. My forearms are of a decent size but are not very enduring at all, even when I use straps. I really like pulling on something instead. The shoulder one is painful, but the hamstrings one has made me cry before. That might have alot to do with me being a pussy though, LOL...

iv'e always had really flexible hams so that one doesn't bug me much. it's the quad stretch that kills me. when im finished i usually just let go of the bar and drop on the floor whimpering.

yea the stretching is killer, but i feel that its good for my flexability for ball season next year, i know DC doesnt advocate it, but i think im gunna start doin rotator cuff movements, probably with band tension only tho.
what are you guys thoughts on that
im not putting a spin on anything, just tryn to stay healthy

I don't think that's putting a spin on it. Like you said, you feel that it will help your cuffs. Why not do it?

I must warn you that stretching to the point of 'pain' is not all that great bros. "Stretch Reflex" is what occurs with DC's stretches. Any time you stretch the relaxed muscle fibers a little too far by over-stretching, a nerve reflex in the extrafusal muscle fibers responds by sending a signal to the muscle to contract; this mechehinism is what keeps the muscles from being injured. Therefore, when you stretch too far, you tighten the very muscles you are trying to stretch! (same thing happens when you get a involuntary muscle reaction as when you touch something burning hot (afferet nerve)

The stretch reflex mechanism does cause 'pain', as well for microscopic tearing of muscle fibers. This tearing leads to the formation of scar tissue in the muscle fibers, with a gradual loss of elasticity. The muscles become tight and sore.

The stretching I'm currently doing is Autogenic Inhibition or aka "Contract-Relax". It's the opposite of stretch reflex. I'll explain this later as I have to go do some shit this morning.

Excellent post, and the only thing I can add is I never have been one to stretch a cold muscle, I use my warm up sets for every exercise as a stretch, of course now training with DC I use the Extreme Stretching and I have to say not only do my muscles have a better shape but also years of pain are slmost healed 100%...

I do agree that after performing the DC extreme stretches has improved my flexibility as well for muscular shape and size (espeically in my biceps/triceps). I just believe almost any stretching method works.. but just don't over-do it, where you feel that you're tearing your arms off- which microscopically, you are. Not unless you're one of thse faggot boy/girls that want to be flexible like this.
