  • hiatus hernia - what to eat?

    hi,

im suffering from hiatus hernia, like i guess alot of lifters are, so i was hoping someone had some tips or tricks for me.

it does'nt hurt or anything, the problem is that some sorts of food makes me feel really full for a really long time, even when im not. and not the good kind of full, but the kind that makes you throw up and have acid reflux and so on.

the biggest problem i have is that the alot of really nutritious and cheap food upsets my stomach, so i'm lookin for something i can eat all day everyday with the least amount of agony.

what i have found to upset my stomach the most is:
    -red meat
    -oatmeal
    -rice
    -potatoes
    -dairy products
    -protein powder, epspecially whey
    -carb drinks...

so what i try to base my diet around now is fish, pork, chicken, eggs, veggies and nuts. its not so bad, but due to my work situation, i'm hoping for someting thats easy to eat og put in a blender to drink while i'm working, witch has a high protein content and some slow carbs.

used to drink 9eggs, 250g oatmeal, olive oil and a can of cottage cheese 3-4 times a day at work, but its not working out any more. so im hoping someone can give me a cheap ang nutritious replacement:fish2:

To be honest you should go see a specialist to have it fixed. My gf had the same problem and that was the only thing that helped.

been to a couple of specialists, but was told the only thing that could cure it was surgery. spoke to some people who had that surgery, and they did not recomend i at all....:O

          1) "hiatus" is a break or vacation. "hiatal" is a hernia where the stomach protrudes through some muscle wall.

          2) Food choice won't do shit. If you want to alleviate symptoms, you need the surgery.

as i said before, i been advised by people who has had the surgery not to do it. they told me about alot of discomfort due to the surgery.

just hoping to get some tips to keep the protein high, without upsetting my stomach. found a couple of lists of foods that should be ok to eat, but thats pretty much what i eat now. i'm afraid its mostly due to the quantity of food i try to eat, rather then the food itself

I would question the surgeons ability versus the surgery performed. If you want to be able to eat the surgery is the only option.

So what are you going to do? Tap dance around it the rest of your life? Risk it getting worse? Don't be foolish, get the damed thing fixed..
