  • Snatch grip deadlift for back thickness

Have used these in the past and noticed a change in back thickness using them.

I am concerned they have to much leg work in them.
I suppose I can do them from a rack

    Thoughts?

Might as well do high or hang pulls IMO. Snatch grip always felt like more of a leg movement because you basically squat down.

I'd do those from a rack with the pins set at knee level.

I did those in the past and it's better done from that setup for back work. Pulling from the floor will result in overall posterior chain work, which can also be good or not, depending on what you're trying to work on.

Also start very light on these because it can feel awkward, and it takes a while to get the feel of it.

A good variation if you're interested. You can pull these from the floor. Great for traps and I feel these are superior to regular snatch grip deads. You'll need plates with those little spaces for gripping obviously.

Fun fact: Reeves actually did those with a pinch grip, that's some grip strength for ya

Except he did them to widen his shoulder girdle or something, obvious broscience but that doesn't stop it from looking pretty cool.
