  • starting DC....

Well guys after roaming around here for some time and switching my training to low volume for the past 5months i now feel im ready to cross over to DC training. Just had a few questions and please if this has been written somewhere just tell me i dont wanna piss anyone off .... but just cant seem to find certain things.

1.) when doing the back thickness and your doing deads... i believe i read its a set of 8 then 4.... well when this comes around again do you stay in this rep range and just try to add weight? or can you just stick with this weight and add some reps to it before adding weight?

2.) Ive incorporated RP's in the last few months with just a few exercises so i think im gonna give them a try to start wtih. Im just alittle confused on when i should go ahead and go for more Reps to beat a previous workout or add weight... becuaes if i add weight and i dont get the right amount of reps as last week .. i dondt want to drop the exercise and maybe i should of just stuck with adding reps instead. i dont want to overanaylze antyhing to much but just curious on how you guys know when to just go for more weight.

3.) Im roughly in the 15-16%bf so im gonna be doing cardio everday besides leg day and having a good carb cut off just wondering if i should not expect to much weight increases since i wont be eating all out like most of yo uguys are... i just need to lean up a bit first... or atleast stay the same while i build.

that all i can think of right now lol after reading cfp thread and the stickys dante has my minds pretty shot with info lol Id like to thank IH and USmuscle for kinda of getting me on the right track appreciate it big time Well anyones feedback is apprecaited

my suggestion if you have the $$ is to talk with DC personally,,, it is well worth the money..

    Answering your questions.

    1. Just go with your gut on this one... I like to try for the weight increase but do not do it at the sacrifice of good form on Deads or you will end up with a fucked up back.

    2. See number 1,,,, always try to get stronger,, but dont sacrifice form and try to keep your reps in the proper range.

    3. Dont expect any major gains if you are doing a ton of cardio and on a tight diet.

Thanks for your response Big.... yea i guess ill just go with my gut feeling if i can step it up or not with wieght or just add reps first. My cardio wont be to excessive but i dont think 5days a week or so of 45min cardio will hinder growth that much will it?

Depends on your body with the cardio... 45 minutes 5 days a weeks is quite a bit I think. I know guys that do that much when cutting. When bulking I would stick with 20 or 30 minutes of lite cardio 2 or 3 days a week. The 45 for 5 days would be good for trimming up which it sounds like you are looking for, just dont expect major strength increases doing this though.

yea thats true... but alto of what i read seems that you can get away with eating alot of junkfood type of carbs as long as you slam that protien down and give yourself a cut off.... so im wondering if i can get away with that if i have a cut off thats early you know? And honesty if i can build some mass and stay at this bodyfat i woudlnt be mad at all cuz im sure i would fill in more and look leaner

Why eat junkfood types of carbs? Just do it right, eat better and keep the cardio to 3x a week IMO. 5X a week you are just begging to burn up muscle IMO

bro if you are anything like me I can't get away with eating junk at anytime of the day,,,, my body just likes to carry fat too much.. Although, I have to be honest I do eat some garbage now, but if I want to get lean I can't under any circumstance eat garbage calories. I think the whole idea behind eating the junk was for the hard gainer skinny boy types, correct me if I am wrong though DC.

Some other carbs you can add, yams, raisans, whole wheat pasta, skim milk. And for cooking sweet potatoe's/yams....this is what I do. Just peel one and cut into 1 in cubes. Throw it in a boiling pot of water for 7-8 minutes...strain, and store. When you need some just heat it up, sprinkle some cinnamon and splenda on there and you have your own sweet potatoe pie filling that tastes great.

I ve been wanting to start DC since Tues... but ive been sick as hell so i konw i cant go in there and half ass it so tomorrow will be my first day im excited I just need to figure out if i should try to lean up more or just go for some size... being at 15-16% is kind of a inbetween range.

Milk, is truely the nectar of the gods. I may have allowed myself to fall to shit, but I am on the road back. I can tell you that when I was in my best shape, I was killing a gallon of skim every day with 8 scoops of protein powder in it, and it always served me very well.

Milk is awesome. I have it with almost every meal except post workout and any meal after carb cutoff.
