  • 25 minutes too far for a gym?

Hey guys, I'm getting sick of my gym near my house, and am looking for something that is bigger and has more bodybuilders so I can get some lifting friends, and also has some equipment that i need, such as Hack Squat.

Now, do you think a 25 minute drive is too far to drive for a gym?

not even! I've traveled further than that before. Just bring your carb/creatine/ protein drink with you so you can sip it on the way home.

Naw bro 25 minutes isn't that bad especially when you put in some music in the car to get you pumped up as your on the way to the gym. Not a big deal at all.

Bro for about 3 years my other gym was about 45min from me, since back then I was living in a rural area I had to drive into the city to get to a decent gym.

mine is about 40 minutes away,,, but that is because I live in bum fuck no where and have no other choice. I would have no problems driving 25 minutes at all.

I used to drive 30-40 minutes to the gym - it was great motivation because after that driving you didn't want to have wasted it on a shitty workout! Also gave me time to wake up (I workout first thing when I get up) and listen to some motivating music...

How about walking 45 mins to and from the gym every time?

I'm thinking of joining this gym about that far away. In the summer, it's a 10 min bike ride, but in the winter with icey pavements, I'd have to walk or use a bus etc., but walking saves me some money as I'm on a tight budget these days.

Also, on the days I'm walking to and from the gym I'd skip the morning cardio? Or??
                      Regards,

My gym is about 25 min no traffic. I dont mind the drive either, it gives me enough time to psych myself up for the workout. By the time I get there I am ready to kill the log book.

Back in the day, we used to have to trudge 3 hours, uphill (both ways) through -40? snow, ice, sleet and hail in the winter to get to my gym. Even our sled dogs couldn't handle it.

We had to carry our own weights to the gym b/c they didn't have enough for everyone.

In the fall, the leaves from the trees were 4-6 feet deep: we had to tunnel some days (if we were the first ones to make the trip that day).

The summers were brutal - buzzards circling continuously when we made the walk, without any water, in the blistering 135? heat. Worst was when you'd get delirious and see a mirage that looked like the gym, get distracted and then trip over a cow's skull and get a mouthful of sand...

Ball up, trooper and make that drive. You'll be a better man for it.
