  • Green Tea

I've heard green tea raises estrogen levels. I haven't had time yet to look for a study that shows it, but does anyone have any input on if this is true, why we still consume large quantities of green tea?

Raises estrogen levels? I have been drinking green tea on and off *very consistently now of course* for a couple years now and have not noticed anything like that. Where'd you hear that?

That's something I have to see. If that was the case Dante and IH would be walking around wearing bras and going to see movies like the Notebook .

Complete information about our recommendation of Green Tea, including why it is recommended; conditions prevented by it.

Of interest to those with androgenetic alopecia is evidence that green tea can influence serum concentrations of hormones. High intake of green tea has been associated with higher levels of sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) and lowered levels of serum estradiol (estrogen) concentration in women. Increased SHBG may be of help in reducing the effects of androgenetic alopecia (pattern baldness).

I was drinking Green Tea for a while but lately the most effect way for me to get it in is through suppliments. I started taking 1000-1500mg a day of Green Tea and the energy is right up and the water just get flushed right out. For me to get 1000mg would take me more effort by drinking it. Estrogen makes you retain water and green tea doesn't do it.
