Today was my first leg workout of my second blast. I hit leg press last. I warmed up pretty good and put up a decent weight......I actually beat my logbook from the previous blast so I was pretty psyched. My boy came in while I was hitting it up and jumped in with me. I told him the deal and we did our heavy set and when we got to the second set, I told him about the high repper and how I normally go to about 20-25. He basically called me out and told me to get a 100. So, we dropped the weight to 315 and both did a set to 100 with balls deep reps. That is some fucking unbelievable pain!! My legs are totally smoked. Anyone else ever try to hit a 100? Anyone want to give me a pat on the back??

I took less than half of typical working weight. I normally hit about 700ish for about 12 first set. (I know it doesn't sound like much but the gym owner actually welded this thing himself. So it's a little different than your typical gym leg press. I can normally hit about 100-150 more on a "real" leg press).
Dante didn't tell me to do this. I came up with the bright idea myself! Talk about pain! I had my boy right there and I knew he was gonna do it, so I had to. We were even going to bring the garbage can over....just in case. But neither of us puked. I won't be doing that every workout, I'll tell ya that!www.trueprotein.com........best protein around!!

It was a spur of the moment type thing. I won't be doing it again anytime soon. I just got back from a little get-together and the pain is really starting to set in. It's 2:20am and time for bed. I get the feeling it's not going to be easy getting out of bed tomorrow........my legs hurt THAT bad!!www.trueprotein.com........best protein around!!

I am not trying to be a bitch here by no means, so please don't take this the wrong way. It gets to a certain point when you do extremely high reps that you are chaging over from anaerobic exercise to aerobic. When you get that high in reps it is almost like you are doing cardio, so I dont know how productive goint that high in reps is for actually inducing muscle growth.. I do admire you for your balls and I am sure that it was a major nut check to do those, but I dont know if that high of reps are needed in a regular routine. Anyone else with opinions on this.I do not condone the use of anabolic steroids or any illegal drug, any information discussed is for educational purposes only.

To me it is one of those things you would do just once in a while as a nut check. I don't really see the need for it in your regular rotation. JMOI do not condone the use of anabolic steroids or any illegal drug, any information discussed is for educational purposes only.

I agree totally
too high of reps.
Even though its still only one set, amount of reps is a volume variable too. each rep is breaking down tissue all those rep afte rep after rep in the beginning did nothing for the growth process but definately broke the muscle down.
20 reps is high enough
I even feel this becomes more of an aerobic workout at times.

BBC u r a crazy bastard. I tried the 50 repper before and got to 47 before my legs wouldn't move. I can't imagine 100:showoff: Pain is weakness leaving the body – and strength training is the antidote. :showoff:

Don't get me wrong....this will definetely not be part of my regular workout. I was going to try a 50 repper cuz I heard a couple of people talking about it on this board and I needed a gut check. When I mentioned it to my boy.....he said "Fuck that, do a 100". So we just went with it. I would hit about 15-20 reps then stop for a few seconds then right back at it but I never racked the weight.....just kept going til I hit 100. My legs were fucking destroyed yesterday!
BTW, Dante did not tell me to do this! He might even think its a bad idea.....I'm not sure. My time is up with Dogg, so it's not like he advised me to do it. I was just surprised that I did a 100 hence my posting of it.
If it's a really bad idea, I hope he chimes in and says so......but I'm not gonna bother him by emailing him a question like that. He's busy enough.www.trueprotein.com........best protein around!!
