  • What all supps do you guys take besides the usual?

    What I mean is..

I'm curious what ALL everyone is taking supplement-wise. I know that in addition to food, we are all taking protein powders (TrueProtein), glutamine, creatine and the like. But what else does everyone take?

    TheLil'Missus and I:

In addition to protein powders, glutamine, creatine, BCAA's & green tea (all of which I'm assuming most here are taking), we also take:

    Vitamin/Mineral Paks (with breakfast)
    Glucosamine/Chondroitin (with breakfast & dinner)
    Fish Oil caps (with dinner)
Yohimbine HCL (just added this as we are trying to trim a little--great results thus far)
Ripped Fuel (predominantly on our light cardio days)
Mass Aminos (good hydrosolates) & Ultra 40 (beef liver-good aminos, b vitamins, heme iron and other minerals) by Beveryly Intl (before and after light cardio only)

    What about ya'll?

The general stuff... glutamine, creatine, green tea, whey protein, blended protein... Animal Pak vitamins, Arginine powder... and I just ordered some ZMA and melatonin because I have heard both have a positive affect on sleep - and I don't seem to be getting very good quality sleep lately...
Was looking at glucosamine/chondritin because I have some nagging joint issues ... but I have heard mixed things about it...

ZMA didn't do anything for my sleep but melatonin DEFINITELY helped. Word of caution. Start with a small dose. I had a co-worker that would only take 1mg and wake up feeling drugged. Me? I could take 3mg, sleep like a baby and wake up feeling great. Try 1mg first and see how it works for you.

I've had great results with glucosamine/chondroitin. I'm a big believer.

multi vitamin/mineral and melatonin for sleep aid. other than the various liver protectants while on i have found most OTC supplements not to be very useful. not worth the money anyways.

i have found lots of food, protein powder, green tea, and a good multi works for me. i would rather invest my money in buying those things then in expensive supplements that dont really do much

A quality multi-vit/mineral....Milk Thistle (silymarin) and a quality licorice root extract.

Licorice root aids the digestive system and purifies the blood. May cause elevated BP is a scant few individuals. Has lots of medicinal values TBH.

Anyone here supplement with food? I heard it tastes pretty good. Any input? LOL

I'd love to get my hands on yohimbine but don't want to run the risk of customs.

For those supp'ing with ALA and CLA what dosages did you find work well for you? Thanks!
