Alrtight, I have been using ALA for a few months now and so far so good. I had a question though for those of you who also use it. Would using ALA post workout interfere with the insulin spike? If it does, would it matter anyway since it tends to pull the carbs to the muscle glycogen stores? I was just wondering about this one.

I do know that it is supposed to be great for your liver too.
So what you are saying is no ALA post workout?I do not condone the use of anabolic steroids or any illegal drug, any information discussed is for educational purposes only.

ALA being a anti-oxident works in both fatty and watery areas of cells to smash free radicals.
It also helps to recycle other antioxidants, including vits E and C, Co-Q10, and glutathione, extending their life.
I have seen studies (bobo) that it is recognized as a coenzyme necessary for carbohydrate metabolism in the biochemical reaction known as the citric acid cycle, Raul no comment ().
Also to treat adult onset diabetes (non-insulin-dependent) and its complications...

Ala
Animal discusses this quite a bit on his board and he recommends using it before workouts or with a non-carb meal. ALA increases insulin sensitivity of both muscle and fat cells. After workout is particularly bad since your workout hormones make your muscles insulin sensitive and your fat cells insulin resistant. ALA would ruin this. They also recommend combining it with acetyl L-carnitine.
