  • Shoulder problem

Hi, I have some issues with my shoulder , I have a small tear/ inflammation which I hope it will cure itself by two weeks times, however the question is to those that have a history of shoulder problems how do you do stretching before and how to you warm the shoulder girdle before performing heavy ass pressing movements?

personally i would wait to do heavy presses until it is better. you dont want to make it worse do you?

If there is a tear, it needs to be rested to heal 1st. But when you are ready to begin again, try these:

i warm up with a couple sets of the rotator cuff exercises kidrok posted and stretch thoroughly DC style afterwards. i also like to include some face pulls on back day.... these seem to help keep my shoulders stabilized when doing heavy pressing movements

I seem to remember someone writing about a shoulder exercise DC recommended for rehab but I can't find it. It may have been on another site. If anyone knows where it is I would like to read it as well. Could you please post it here. Inhuman?
            Thanks.

As I know, slow repetition can help on rehabilitation exercise...so i you feel ready to begin using heavy load, use slow repetition like 4 sec up, 8 sec down, 4 up 4 down or feel free to use your own variation...

As for note...don`t exert your maximum possible produced power [use slooow rep] on your first 3 rep...injury usually tend to happen on that time...because if the fresh muscle is exposed with great power, that will lead to injury...

AS for extreme streching, I think you should try that until you`re fully recover...

Remember to do a lot of ice massage over the area of the most pain... that will promote healing, decrease improper vascularization that can occur in areas of tendon damage/irritation, and decrease the inflammation if any is still present.
