    I have never used insulin but I have been researching it and I am considering using it for an upcoming blast.

    Most of the advice I have seen tells people use slin post workout. Start at 2 IU's and add 1 IU each time until you reach 10 ius.

    Start off with 10g of carbs/iu of slin. as you respond and get to know it better, you can manipulate it as you want (i.e., lower carbs a bit). Consume 1.5x the amount of whey as carbs and include creatine and glutamine.

    Slin should be used for 3 to 4 weeks at most, followed by at least 3 weeks off.

    Question:

    With DC's program we only train 3 times a week. I plan to only use slin post workout. If I start at 2 IU's and add 1 IU at a time, it will take me 9 workouts (3 weeks) to get to 10 IU's and I will have at most 1 week (3 workouts) to use slin at 10 IU's post workout.

    Is this how I should use slin?

    jediclampet, I am sorry but I will not give advice on this particular substance, I think it can be very harmful if not done correctly, and I think you need to be very experienced before even contemplating its use, I am not saying you are not experienced in this game, but I do not feel right about giving out information on this substance, sorry for that...

      I've used it plenty...won't anymore though...and I never even had any major probelms...

      risk is just too high and the rewards are not worth it IMO.

      I also started feeling very hypo, using 10iu post workout with 100g carbs.

      I found my appetite totally supressed (even felt nauseus) and that's not a good feeling especially when you know you need food b/c you just took insulin...and you're trying to bulk.

      My gains have been just as good w/o it.

        In-Human and Big Willy, thanks for your input. Maybe that is what I needed to hear. I am still making steady gains so perhaps I should wait to use slin when I get to a sticking point - or maybe I will never use slin.

          I wouldn't use it especially if you are prone to gaining fat.

          With the right primer after the work out you will have all the insulin surging that your body will ever need naturally.

          It's dangerous even for experienced people.

            jediclampet, G has a very good point, I have seen a few very experineced guys damage themselves with slin, and now they are dependent on it for the rest of their lives and they do not lift anymore but still have to use it to survive.

            Please go the natural route here, when you are carb depleated and use as G said Dex and Malto post to increase your own spike.

            Even when you stall in growth at one point, there still is better alternatives than using this substance...

              Thanks for your advice. I posted a similar question on another board and they agree with you - that slin is dangerous and not worth the risk. Most seem to think it is overrated anyway with regard to gains.

              Anyway, after considering the advice of my knowledgeable brothers I have decided not to use exogenous insulin, I will just try to use my post workout shake to manipulate my natural insulin levels.

              Thanks again for steering me in the right direction!

                  I'm not going to get into a debate about whether taking 10iu's of insulin 3x a week can turn you diabetic or not and I'll agree with the guys that if you're still making gains I wouldn't even consider taking it...
