  • Hey guys......

    I had a question regarding someones recover capabilities........ for example i did chest last saturday i was honestly sore up until yesterday does this just been my recovery my body has just sucks? Usually im sore for a good 2-3days after a workout. And when you guys talk about not being sore at all for the next workout do you mean not a ounce of tightness at all like your body is fully recovered?

    Did you do everything required of you to recover ASAP from your workout...Extreme stretching,glutamine,protein, rest,etc....?

      My bad FH i should of mentioned that i do not do DC yet i have a thread i posted yesterday titled " hey doggpound" I believe if you want to check that out..... i havent reduced my volume big time and am currently working my way into a DC type of program dont feel i have the training maturity yet for it and i can admit i need some time getting use to low volume and just to learn more about my body..... i do the extreme strecthing though and shit loads of protein 350-375day im 210 at the monment but no glutamine

        OK bro that's cool.High dose glutamine IMO really does help with recovery.Some studies have shown different but I can feel a difference when I don't take it.Some people would disagree but I believe that if a muscle is still sore then that is an indication that it hasn't fully recovered from the previous workout and that the cycle has not been completed.Wait til you're not sore and perhaps consider adding some of the elements that I mentioned above to your program.

          FH is right, Glutamine helps tremendously, I don't care what studies say. I find that when i supplement with anywhere from 20-30g Glutamine daily, my recovery time is almost cut in half. Make sure your nutrition plan is in order, as well. That's a huge problem for most people, not eating. Make sure you are getting your sleep too.

            well my diet is up there in protein 350-375g carbs are varying everyday im leaning up so diet is farely low in cals ranging from 2400-2700 depending if its a training day or not. But i do not use glutamine just heard so much its a waste but ill try it out.... any cheap places to get it at? 20-30G a day sounds like alot and can get expensive.

              Tyson,get it from TrueProtein.com nowhere else.I do 60grams a day but I'm nuts so you could probably do a little less.Think about whether your calories are a little on the low side and also pay attention to your postworkout nutrition too.Remember that postworkout window is a critical time to get the recovery train rolling on the tracks....

                Yes, it can get expensive. I get 2.2 lbs of Optimum Nutrition Glutamien from the Vitamin Shoppe for about $35.00. That is about the cheapest I have found. Your body may also start recovering more slowly from the reduced calories you are taking in.

                  Goddamnit FH you posted while I was typing, lol. Also Tyson, make sure to empty out the glutamine and transport them around in little plastic baggies for better convenience. I promise no one will think anything of it..lol

                    OK..I just did the math.If your protein is running at 350-375grams of protein and only 2700 calories guessing that your fat intake is 10% or so that means you're only taking in 232.5g of carbs on workout days.Much too low IMO.....My postworkout meal/shake alone has 180grams of carbs.I'd like to see you gradually incrase the calories.Slowly at first if you're concerned about mainaining a level of leanness but definately add some more carbs (simple and complex) to your post workout meal.

                      Thanks for the post FH , but even if im leaning up? I need to diet down before i do a adding mass stage. im to high in bodyfat thats why my carbs are low and im doing way more then 10% fats im doing a type of CKD diet timed carb diet i have a post on that as well lolol Shit i have post about every aspect of my training lol I apprecate your guys as feed back i love this board and i continue to learn cant wait to do the DC training

                          well correct me if im wrong which im sure i can be lol but im not on a total keto type of diet i do have carbs on training days pre, post and one hour after post workout..... and 2days a week i have carb re-feeds.... so from my understanding its having no carbs at all that get you in the state of ketosis right? my bad if im way off but i konw i feel great on this diet becuase fat makes up a good 40% of my diet so the calories are there and my body is running off it most of the time so im leaning up at a good rate
