  • Is there such a thing as too many shakes?

Like I said in my intro thread, I only get three meals a day presently. The rest of my protein relies upon shakes, tuna, jerkey, or Peanut Butter. My question is, is there such thing as too many shakes? Such as should you try to get in solid type proteins if possible. Or is it ok to choke down 3-4 shakes a day. I dont see why it would be a problem. But never kn ow till ya ask I gotta say.

Also, I checked out www.trueprotein.com this place is awesome. I love how you can get a pre mi made with all the goodies you need to get ahead of the game. This is frickin sweet. I looked over some of the mixes already there. I even played with the "make your own" deal. My only question is, its kinda hard to figure out what you are getting per serving. If I through some crazy ass concoction together with whey, creatine, glut, flax, and some Dextrose... how can you tell how much you would get per serving?? So my question is, have any of you got some good post/pre workout blast mixes you have created and care to share the ingredients? I plan on playing with the "builder" alot more next time I am online. Just looking for some ideas.

Whole food is definitely king, but shakes can be invaluable if you can not yet get all of your protein from whole foods. Currently I only use shakes for pre, post workout and before bed, but if you need to choke down some liquid food instead because you can't eat all that whole food then by all means do it. I would ask tpc what he recommends for his concoctions and what the protein yield would be on certain mixtures.

Why don't you check out the pre mixed formulas they have set up .

For nite time I use the pre night formula and for a protein blend between meals i use 30% whey, 30 mi casein, 40 egg.
