They hit the lats harder than anything I've ever tried. Have you never tried them? Give them a shot on your cruise and let us know how it goes. They are great.

Last "blast" (break for exams) I did pullups/chinups/ and V grip pulldown

But Rack chins are getting a lot of hype!

But not having a training partner, Im going to have to use a dip belt---ALTHOUGH normally I dont use weights for chins, so having your legs up on the bench, would it be worth starting from scratch and get the form down, or add a little bit of weight already? (i think i just answered my own question lol :p)

I believe you can start adding a little weight right from the beginning. If you feel you need to do them weightless to get the true feel for them before you attempt them weighted, then by all means do it. They will kill you though, I am not up to very much weight

Cheers dude, Ill do it weightless on thursday

I dont understand why people do wide grip pullups/downs
...doing it just shoulder width apart increases the ROM and even though its a narrower grip, still works on the upper lats (the wings :bat:.)??

Rack chins are a little easier to add weight progressively. There is actuall a thread on mayhem.

this is from Dogg himslef, I hope this is what you were looking for

            Dante:
Can you hang 140lbs off of you on regular chins and get 15-20 reps rest paused? (thats the problem with regular chins--people get settled into using bodyweight only over and over--if you get 15 reps with bodyweight this year and 15 reps with bodyweight next year did your back get any wider? Not unless you gained 30lbs yourself)
