  • Training Methods???

Lookin for some help here, til i finally make some money at my job and pick up doggcrap if hes willing to take me. So for now, heres some questions

When your doing a workout, do you jump from one exercise right to another, or is there a short rest period between exercises? Also how much rest in between warmup sets per exercise?

If i feel im recovering very well on the MWF split, and im clean, when i jump "on" does that mean it would be a good idea to try out the MT TF split? I have gained about 3-5 lbs in 4 weeks on the program, and ALL lifts have gone up already. Looks to me, but i could be wrong, that if i had gear in me improving my recovery capabilities (im clean now), i could do the 4 day a week split instead of 3. (keep in mind i started slin post workout only last week)

    Any thoughts?

TooPowerful4u, I will say no to your second question, when you get "on", you will have more power, strength and drive, in turn you will push yourself that much harder, and depending on your recovery, you may last not as much as if you were clean, surprised huh, but of course we all react different to this program and recovery.

I have to say since my workouts have gotten heavier, I must take a bit more time between exercises, I try to keep going, but sometimes a certain heavy exercise and heavy stretch, I will need some time to regroup so I can continue, you will find your niche...

Interesting point. I briefly thought about perhaps upping the volume a bit myself, but decided against it. I also found that the stronger I get the more rest I need in between sets and I need to take an extra rest day here and there or I'm just pooped. Or "knackered" as Rackitup would say.

I like your ideas In-Human even though you are always mean to me.

Gollum, I'm sorry if you feel that way, but if I am mean to you, its a good thing that means I like you.

As far as upping the volume, I told DC the 2nd month into this program, I asked, "could we go to 4 days a week", and DC said, "No freaking way, you will see in a while 3 days is enough".

Boy if he wasn't correct on that one, I cannot even do three days the old way, I need to do the split now for too many warm up sets...

In-human, I was just playing with ya man. You go ahead and be your loveable blood and guts self. wouldnt have it any other way.

Rackitup: Your ego is fine. Its gotten quite a bit smaller. Which means you have probably gotten quite a bit bigger. But you cant have it back yet. Talk to me when you're 225 and we'll see.

I kinda see what you are saying. I just wanted to see what you all thought, im an inexperienced kid compared to most of you, so ur advice is well taken. The training has been kickin the hell out of me, and im startin to really feel the fatigue at the end of week 4. I just realized after my second time around the split in 4 weeks, there is NO WAY ur doin pullups at the end of the workout, thats why everyone does rack chins.

I was curious how long everyones workouts usuially run. I havent been able to get one under an hour and 15minutes in 4 weeks.

TooPowerful4u, Don't feel to bad, I have not been able to get a blast workout done in under 3 hours, now I do have a training partner, but is is just the damn warm ups that take so long as DC pointed out earlier in another thread.

As the weights get heavier and heavier the warm ups get more and more, its just to tough and I do not want an injury jumping into heavy weight with 1 or 2 warm up sets...
