  • Squat Issues.

I have yet to squat but am a little concerned about doing so for the simply reason that I am used to squating powerlifter style. Parallel, maybe 1 inch below.

What percentage should I lighten my weight to get my ass to touch the floor?

tybolltt, Noone can give this number, you just start very light to get this form down, get as low as possible, chest out, head up, back straight, don't worry your weight will come up so fast your head will spin...

Honestly I would start with the bar, or the Smythe bar. Just to get form down. Don't worry what you look like. I just started lifting in a powerlifting gym and since I am new to these exercises and this program, I hardly put any weight on my bars, especially for warming up, but I would rather get my form proper before anything else. A powerlifter corrected my form yesterday on inclines and he was right.

First things First. Then watch the weights add on!! Good luck!!

jimpaul, I have not Squated for 15 years for fear of my lower back, now when I started with DC in Jan. I started to Squat with 25s, now I am up to 530x5 and going ass in the grass is so much easier on your body, so many people are lost, to think that going below parellel will hurt your knees, I now have 1/4 of my gym going ass in the grass now and loving it...

tybolltt,. It depends on the rep scheme you are using, I am using the 8 then 4, then 20 on the Smythe, so I wrap on 8 and 4.

I thought maybe the tighter I wrap it would send blood to my brain, nope, no chance on getting any smarter, oh well...

Ok remember Inhuman is doing 3 sets for his legs because he really feels they need to come up for his show and he is trying the gamut--so you other guys dont start thinking you are doing something wrong with your 2 sets of legs one heavy 4-8 and then one for 20

as far as your question tybollit-Inhuman answered that in the second post perfectly and I concur
