  • Just joined and hoping to start DC training soon

I have read the CFP article numerous times along with the posts on this and other boards concerning DC training and I feel I am almost ready to begin...

Please tell me if this is correct....

I will start by training 4 times in 8 days(day 1 twice and day 2 twice) to gauge my recovery abilities and get used to r\p and statics...not to mention the pain

Though 3 exercises are used in a rotation for a bodypart....an exercise is not changed unless you have stagnated in the movement..while trying to progressively increase of course...is this correct?

There is no real "target" amount of reps for the workset r\p sets but 15 is used by many from what I understand..

    Thank you for your time

*I did read that DC had people do the routine 4 times a week but from what i've heard recently and from what he told me was to do it on the mon-wed-fri split. I've only heard of one person who had the genes and the balls to do this routine 4 times a week, i.e each bodypart twice a week. And that person is Silverback. A 5'6" 260 lb+ guy and not only is he dedicated as hell but he's a genetic freak. So I dont think the 4 day a week routine will do much good, but then again In-human, Raul, and DC himself might say otherwise so i'll leave it up to them to fill up that void.

*yes 3 exercises are rotated and you should go up by atleast 2 reps or increase the weight everytime you come back to that exercise otherwise its time to switch up.

*And as for reps its usually 11-15 r/p unless your using dumbbells which can be very hard to r/p with then it would be 15-30 r/p.

And by the way I cant wait to start training with ya it'll be great. See ya at the gym tomorrow!

This is DC on Tpc's account--Actually Silverback is on the same schedule as you are ballz, and everyone else I can think of on this board that I personally train--I cant think of anyone on here who is doing differently right now except Gorilla2015 who has to take even more rest than most people because he overtrains quickly....But the rest of you are doing M W F M (bodyparts hit two times every 8 days)

Oh I thought he said he was training 4 days a week guess I was wrong. Yeah so do the mon-wed-fri routine and straight set it out the first six workouts then r/p and statics can come after that. I'll talk to ya at the gym.

Thanks DC and ballz and Raul....I was just kind of confused but now I am understanding the concept that the bodyparts are getting hit 2 times every 8 days(which I am already doing and recovering from well)

Sorry if these kind of questions are asked a lot I think CFP covers most any question I will have

Ballz go on AIM if you wouldn't mind talking more about this....

ballz, My fourth week into this program with DC, and I said to him, "Hey what if I go 4 days per week", DC replied, "No freaking way, you just wait a while, theres a means to a end here". Hell if he didn't some that up in only a few words.

Yes I am still on the TThSa routine and I am dead by Saturday, I enjoy those two days off in a row. After training for so many years I had to be de-brainwashed to train more intense with more rest and more food...

Inhuman...TThSat..that's how I do it too.I like that weekend workout. When I did MWF by the end of the week I was always so spent from work etc....that my friday workout often seemed to suffer. There are weeks though that I'm still sore from the previous bodypart workout and with DC's approval I don't hesitate to take an extra day off.Do you ever find you have to throw an extra rest day in there?

FrigginHuge, I really am a sick bastard, and I do not miss days, I stick to the program, but by all means you need a extra day off you take it, you know as much as I do you need to give it 110% on the workouts, so it won't hurt a thing taking that extra day off.

I am never sore for more than 2 days, sometimes Hacks will get me for 3 days once in a while.

I have been at the same job for many years and I have a shitload of vacation days, so if I feel the need for rest I will take Fridays off and eat and sleep the whole day so I can murder the gym on Saturday then have two days off...

I try to get people to take one day off a month--just to get that 3-5 day rest in there (sometimes you need it especially if you sleep like crap like I do and I know frigginhuge does too)---i had to switch up my workouts because of Trueprotein--my schedule was getting wacked so ive gone
with T TH and then sat and sun (this is one workout split in half between the two days--cuz i hate training for a long time on the weekends)--i do a 35 minute walk on mon wen and fri first thing in the morning (after 30 gram protein drink in water) with my wife--has worked out well so far

I remember I was discussing with Chris250 a while ago whether doing the routine EOD would work better instead of taking those two days off every weekend.Well,I tried going EOD...Lasted about two weeks before I felt overtrained and drained. Some friendly advice for anyone out there that thinks that they can tweak Dante's routine better than he could himself........WRONG!
