  • DC training for contest Prep

Hey was wondering if I could get some guidance on my contest prep, while using DC training. Do I need to keep hitting it hard or closer and closer I get to date start bringing down the intensity?

Any suggestions I would certainly appreciate, this is my 1st show.

I used the exact same methods I did for the offseason DC training. Fight like hell to keep your strength. I didn't do any "shaping" or high rep stuff.

Also, I did zero ab training, and I think they look pretty good. I purposely did this to throw it in the face of the people that tell me and others to be training abs a shitload. Its also to show people who watch those ab infomercials and think that training abs is what is gonna make them show.

I do believe in heavy ab work for core strength.

I usually have people rest pause as long as they can and then straight set at about the 3-6 week mark from the show (for injury sake)--depending on their tiredness and work schedule we make determinations of whether to stay with the 2x every 8 days method or splitting the body 3 ways and going a different route. Remember though--A semblance of what gave you that muscle mass is going to keep that muscle mass. Take a 320lb bodybuilder who lifts heavy slag iron all day long in the offseason with backbreaking weights and put him on a contest program of tuna fish and water with high rep training with light weights and guess what youll get? total disenagration

Thanks for the feedback guys, because I really want to keep all the muscle that I put on for the show. Baby I will get in touch with skip.

DC: so just keep hitting hard until about 3-6weeks out from the show then start straight setting everything. Correct
