Good point Heckman, but if that were the case, it would not be a localized twitch in one specific place; it would be a generalized symptom manifesting as a full blown cramp or rigor rather than a repetitive twitch.

Twitching and Cramps "can" be a warning sign for having a Calcium deficiancy. Without Calcium, your muscles cannot contract properly. And without Magnesium, they cannot relax.
Just my 2 cents worth

PS: You have it in the legs - some people I know (cough, cough, no names, COUGH) have it in the cerebellum...

It's just the nervous system in the area having some fun; not too much to be concerned about. It will tend to occur more frequently if you train legs irregularly or if you train after a break. It's basically an insufficiency or irregularity in neurotransmitter transfer at the synapse.

Thigh twitching
Bit of a random question here, but last night, and not for the first time my right thigh twitched like mad.
I have some seriously crunchy knees and the twitching was on the outside of the thigh about half an inch above and outside the knee.
Not painful, quite amusing in fact - just a little concerning.
I'm on a cruise, did a little squatting last night - but it does seem to happen quite a bit - no where else.
My chiropractor has said in the past that I need some work on my inner thighs as my knee is being pulled to the outside.
I had hoped that stretching and squats/deads would do the trick.
Anyone experience this ?Tags: None
