  • My First DC workout...sucked

    Well as many of you may I know i was very anxious to begin my blast today and was exited about getting started with this training. Well all that changed when I got to the gym.

    Here the list of shitty things that happened at the gym today:

    1)All the lockers were full so I had to carry my jacket, and bag all around the damn gym.

    2)I couldnt get any Rest Pause sets in even after waiting 30 seconds after the initial straight set. I guess I just really know how to tax my muscles because after my 8 reps to failure on the bench and 30 secs of rest I couldnt even move the bar more than an inch. I only got 1 extra rep on one of my military press r/p's and 2 reps on one of my close grip bench r/p's.

    3) All the weights I used suffered greatly after the chest and shoulder r/p sets. My military press went down 17.5 lbs since I did chest before it and my close grip bench press went 20 lbs down! Also last week I did 190 on the pulldowns for 8 reps and if I hadnt done all the other work I shoulve been able to up the weight to 200 BUT NO! I had to lower it to 180 because I was exhausted as shit and only got 3 reps despite how hard I tried and trust me I train balls to the walls(hence the name) I know what pain is, I used to giant set 3 compund exercises for quads to failure before in the 20-30 rep range each(not that it helped though) so believe me when I say I didnt chicken out.

    4)By the time I got to back thickness I was fuckin WORN OUT! I was seeing stars but I said fuck it im finishing this work out and despite resting 5-6 minutes in between exercises they all sucked especially my deadlift which went down 40 MOTHER FUCKING POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!40 POUNDS!!!! I FEEL WEAK FUCK THAT!!

    5) Also I couldnt do the chest stretch because no matter how high the bench was, and how far I spread my arms,they always ended up touching the ground and I felt a pretty good stretch but no where near the stretch people here were feeling. Besides where's the room for progression when I can already touch the ground on a high bench, after being pumped like hell?

    Overall it sucked ass and the workout ruined my day cuz now my weak ass feels even weaker than before...I dont know whether im ranting, or asking for help all I know is im startin to consider going back to HIT despite all the rave about DC...w/e thx guys for all the support and help and im still open to some suggestions about the routine but im not feeling really confident about it right now ill give it until friday(If i can survive wednesday that is) to make a judgement...damn...well peace.

    Bro im prepared i just doubt im grow from using such light weight. I mean hey if doing a deadlift thats 40 lbs lighter will make me grow then im all for it. Plus I cant do the r/p sets (and i know im not the only one on these boards i recall someone else couldnt either) because I tax myself too much on the straight set.

      Alright thx. I might just cut out the r/p completely for the next couple of weeks and slowly work them in thx. Also what am I supposed to do about the stretching? I already hit the floor with the dumbbells on the highest bench of the gym. Should I do it incline now?

        I'm willing to bet its because you are doing forced reps after you fail. Do atmost 1 forced rep. If you keep doing extra reps with a spotter you will be too zapped for the other 2 mini sets

          Naw i'm not doing forced reps. I dont have a partner, and im not even doing the last slow 5-8 sec negative at the end like in-human since i dont have a partner to get it up after I fail so it should be even easier for me to r/p. BUT it isnt.

            a)if you cannot gain from this kind of training and 99% of other people doing it are gaining by leaps and bounds what does that say about you and your potential as a bodybuilder? It pretty much means take up another hobby (but that isnt the case here--i just want to make that point to you)

            b)you went thru one workout and did 5 sets--5 hardcore sets? You can giant set 3 compound exercises to failure but cannot do 5 hardcore sets in a workout?

            c) every single person Ive trained i emphasize to them--swallow your freaking ego because the first 6 workouts is a feeling out phase--it will be frustrating and then at workout 7 it will start to come together

            d) now you see why i dont train teenagers--its because they dont have the mindset, ego, or deductive reasoning to properly apply this. Its all about looking cool to themselves and others and I MUST DO THIS FOR UPPER OUTER QUADRANT B FOR UPPER CHEST AND THIS EXERCISE FOR LOWER QUADRANT 34E FOR LOWER CHEST AND THIS EXERCISE FOR UPPER MIDDLE QUADRANT C65 AND SO ON--and its a bunch of bullshit

            e) did you eat good the last 3 days (5 meals a day at least) did you sleep good the last 3 days?

            f) Im being harsh here because I need to be harsh here. YOUVE DONE ONE WORKOUT THIS WAY AND YOU ARE TRYING TO GET TO 250LBS SHREDDED IN ONE DAY--it doesnt work like that--NOTHING DOES

            g)Do you know how I can tell you truly dont have what it takes to lift ballz to the wallz at this very moment? I can do one set of squat for 20 reps and I am freaking destroyed--and thats because I took a weight that most people would throw the towel in at 10 reps and I will myself and make myself and drive myself to make 20 reps--and Im freaking done, destroyed after it. It would take me 10 minutes to attempt to try to lift something else for quads. I cant do a compound giant set of 3 quad exercises to failure unless i use baby weights--because i lift too freaking hard and heavy and with you telling me that you can, tells me that you held back on each one of those exercises. You think your hardcore? Ill give you a good test to see if you are---take the weight that you would brag to everyone you can leg press for 6 deep reps--the exact weight that you tell your freinds you leg press....not the one that your going to want to say after I tell you to do the following------now take that weight and cut it in half and do 50 deep reps with it tommorrow. If your hardcore you can do it and make it and if your not, trust me youll be done at 20-30 reps. It takes a certain nutjob willpower to make it and its that same nutjob willpower to do it that makes someone ballz to the wall. Every person I have brought thru that that i thought didnt have the guts didnt make it--and every person I brought thru that that i thought had the fortitude to grind out 50 regardless of wanting to stop made it!

            This is like a job--first day on any job sucks--doesnt matter what job it is--its new--its different and it sucks--and then it all starts coming together after that---so my suggestion is--either go back to bodybuilding.com and do what those guys do--jump from method to method to method for years on end to wind up at 30 years old weighing 185lbs or stick this out for 6 months no matter how tough it is--if 6 months from now with you doing this to the letter and eating to the letter your not 2 to 3x the size you are right now, Ill personally send you 25lbs of protein powder for free-you want my help Ill help you but this isnt going to be a cakewalk the first couple workouts--your training weights are going to initially go down at the beginning of this and then youll be past them in a very short time and youll be so damn strong by the end of 6 months it will be ridiculous. The choice is yours, try it your way (if you were happy with that way would you be wanting to try DC training?) or take my challenge up on me here

                          BullFX, Its fine, sometimes like DC said it gets frustrating when people just get pissed right when they start out without exhausting other programs or reading up on all the posts that are out there on his program...
