  • Couple of Questions before starting DC training

Im a small 15 year old 5'5" 145lb guy. I started at 122(with a slight gut) and got to this present weight with a reduction of bodyfat( i can see my abs clearly) with HIT training. I doubt im ever gonna be as big as some of you guys here but I sure as hell want to make the most I can out of my shitty frame. I use to dream about being a HUGE pro as a little kid but that wont happen.

Anyway I train each bodypart every 12 days and workout half my body every 6 days. My reps go up 1-2 reps or 5 lbs up on every lift everytime i do that exercise again(after 12 days). So iv'e been getting consistent results. But all the hype about DC makes me want to try it. And i read CFP and TONS of posts here, at bbing.com and at Muscle mayhem but I still have some ?'s. , so here are a couple of questions i have before i Begin on monday.

Is this gonna fuck with my recovery ability since I already gain well with one straight set every 12 days?wont 1 restpaused set every 4 days overtrain the hell out of me?

Do I have to switch the exercises every 3 times I hit that bodypart or do I only change it when i stagnate on that exercise?

Is it ok to do HIIT cardio 2x a week to keep the fat off or is HIIT too taxing to combine with DC? because i eat 3000 cals a day and almost 300 grams of protein a day, with a carb cutoff at 6 pm since hearing about DC's philosophies and I still feel like im gaining a little more fat that i want.

How the hell can you keep your calves stretched for 15 secs at the bottom of a calf raise with weight on without your foot slipping off...? I cant even hold it for 1 sec without my foot slipping off the platform no matter what shoes i wear or how much of my foot I put on the platform.

Is it ok to do 1 set of crushes to failure for forearm work? what I do is put weight on a barbell and do crushes with my fingers to failure like the captain of crush people do except without the device cuz I cant afford it. Because i have WEAK grip. My deadlift is usually 260 for a max but without wraps i cant even do 220.

And im hoping to save up money to train with you DC but I doubt that'll ever happen. My parents are broke, and all the money I make at work goes to food(which my parents help me with) and gym payments. But my dad is constantly looking for a better job. He has a Masters degree but 2 things keep him from getting work. 1 he can be an asshole with co workers. 2 lots of people discriminate him because he's arab. But if he gets a better job anytime soon I'll be sure as hell to invest all the extra money he gives me in you and your emails(which cost 400 bucks every 2 months i believe)

anyway i'd appreciate answers on these questions because im anxious to begin DC training and thx in advance!!!

one more question... what's a blast and cruise cycle?
at first I thought it was a roid cycle and that it didnt apply to me since i was natural but i read that it's for natural people too...can someone explain is to me please. Is a criuse a resting phase?

Sorry for being such an ass with all the questions but i DID read CFP and many other posts by DC and his trainees Raul, Inhuman, babygeto. I'm just a little slow...

Blast and Cruise Refers to intensity. Whether you are enhanced or not. And you Shouldn't be till your 20's. No one can go balls to the walls for extended peroids of time. You will overtrain. Not only your muscles but your mind. Watch the crazy guy at the gym. He will go balls out for maybe 6 months and then never show up for 3. Loose all he gained and take 3 more months to get back. Now if he goes balls out for 8 weeks and then lays back for 5 or whatever then balls out 8 again he will end up ahead. This sport is about consitency-nothing of substance can be gained in a month. It will take literally years-3-5 or more to attain what you want to achieve.

ballz 2da wallz, Ok let me say first that I will not give you any shit about your age, I think this is great that you want what you want, takes guts to do this program.

I would start out slow and work your way into this program slow, I have been at this for a long time and it took me a while to get this program down pat.

You will have to do this program for a few weeks to see how your intensity is and then you will find out if you can recover from this kind of torture.

I would stick to straight sets for a couple of weeks to you feel comfortable with this routine, then move into the tough stuff like rest/pause.

You will pick 3 exercises per bodypart, and Back Width and Thickness are considered 2 bodyparts. You will only change an exercise when you do the same weight or rep scheme twice in a row.

Your diet sounds ok for your size depending on what you want to be at. You will do cardio slow paced for 30 minutes on your off workout days.

Calves are very tough to do, if you are using a steel plate with no grip tape it can be a problem to keep your feet placed, just keep readjusting if you need to.

For Forearms we do Reverse Cable Curls, Hammer Dumbell Curls, Pinwheel Curls, give those a try.

Make sure dad gets a god paying job, you need to eat your parents out of house and home.

And keep this in your head forever, "The most ananbolic thing out there, is food", ok, you keep telling yourself that, pins and needles are not the way to go, ever!. To many people think their body can come from a bottle, do not be mislead.

Concentrate on perfect form and do not worry about weight, it wll eventually come, be patient, it will happen, you will have many years of lifting ahead of you if you stick with it.

Glad to help you, good luck, and feel free to ask if you get stuck...

I've already been training to absulte failure straight setting everything out up to now so i know how to do that. But i was just worried that adding even more intensity and increasing the frequency would overtrain me but I guess experimenting is the way to go.

So i only change an exercise when I stagnate on it?
for example i could do deadlifts everytime I hit back thickness until the weight and/or reps dont go up? because I read on muscle mayhem that people where cycling their exercises.
Ex. do deadlift this time i do thickness, next time i use bb rows and the third time i'd use db rows and repeat that cycle.

So which is correct? because no way in hell am I ever gonna drop deadlifts, Bench press, or Squats just cuz i stagnate once on them. Most of my current mass came from them and I love them. Besides I was planning on powerlifting one day and I need as much strength in those exercise as I can get. And why doesnt DC give his clients any lower back exercises when they're not deadlifting?

                  Also what are pinwheel curls?

And I know about roids bro i'm not planning on using em anytime soon. MAYBE one day when im over 21 and im done growing and I just cant see any more natural gains. But for now im staying natural, the only thing im going to use is creatine, and 10 pounds of steak a day baby!

And I have form down, ive been weight training for about a year and a half, and ive been doing HIT for the past 4 months where i got 90% of my gains.

So I got form on check.

Thx a lot In-human and sorry for being such a prick with all these questions.

What exactly do i do differently in the blast and cruise phases?

                    thanks

ballz 2da wallz, Ok first let me say, thats great a year and a half, but trust me, that is nothing, I have been at this game for 24+ years and I still need help, ok.

No you do not know anything about gear, just reading it is fine, but doing it is a whole different story. I will not go into the age thing about what time is good or not.

Yes if you want to do this program and get the most out of it, you will drop that exercise when you do the same weight or reps scheme twice in a row. Doing the same weight and reps will do nothing for your size or strength.

Deads and the like will make your lower back very strong, we get a ton of indirect growth affect to muscles that you do not work independently due to the multi joint movements we do.

No you are not being a prick, we all need to help each other out here, and trust me, if I feel you are being a prick, I will be the first to tell you...

ballz 2da wallz, this is from my post at MM:

Pinwheel Curls are tough to explain, but I will give it a shot.

Think of doing a Hammer Curl with dumbells, now instead of curling that dumbell up to your shoulder, you would curl that dumbell against your body, so you would start out at your front pocket, curl the dumbell in a semi circle close to your body over your stomach and ending at your chin. So the whole motion that dumbell is almost touching your stomach in a half circle motion...

ballz 2da wallz, honestly i have great respect for you being the age you are and having the balls to come on to a big boy board and asking questions about a very hardcore routine.

it makes me laugh to think that this kid knows more about training and what is takes to be successful, over 99% of every person he passes in his gym. i will personally talk with dante to see if he will post and help you directly dealing with your age, etc. and some questions you may have.

shit i wish i would have started at your age, but i chose the route of screwing off, getting skinny/fat (small arms and legs with a belly). i commend you.

-In-human i know a year and a half aint much so I will definately listen your advice guys you seem to know your shit.

And im sorry for asking this question so many times but I still dont completely understand it. So if I do Deadlift today for thickness, would I do it again next time thickess comes around, and again after that until it stagnates. Or would I do deadlit today db rows next time and bb rows after that and repeat the cycle and THEN when say my deadlift stagnates i change it to something else? cuz thats one of the few things i still dont understand in the program, because in CFP Dante said to cycle all 3 exercise for each bodypart but then in another post i read him saying to keep the same exercise for every body part until it stagnates and that will keep me in a sense of urgency to up my weights so that I dont have to switch exercises. So i'm still confused about that. overall thx for taking to help me out i really appreciate it

-tpc, I appreciate the comments very much, and i know i hate it when i see people in the gym doing 50 sets of bench and sipping on cell tech in between sets. When you tell them they should't do that many sets or they'll over train, they laugh and tell you how they're gonna be bigger than big ron in no time thanks to cell techs revolutionary creatine delivery sytem, which I like to call dextrose.

-kid rok, hell yeah im listening to this guy. Hopefully one day ill be the size of one of his arms.

thx a lot for the support guys im looking foreward to be half as big as some of you guys one day.
