  • DC training and my schedule

I've read a little about DC's program and it seems very interesting. I'm trying to figure out how I could incorporate it into my schedule, as my training schedule revolves around when I have my son. I can train on the days that I don't have him and I can't train on the days that I do (actually... sometimes I can train in the mornings on the days I pick him up after work ). I generally train in the evenings after work at about 5:00.
My diet consists of far to many shakes, but I drive a truck all day long for my jog and don't have the time to take breaks....I work until I get everything done that I need to. If I take an hour break I just end up working an hour later. As such it's very easy to carry preloaded containers with protein powder and oatmeal in them. All I need to do is pour in some water, shake it up, and drink it on the go. I eat 8 meals per day taking in 50 - 60 grams of protein per meal. 5-6 of those meals are shakes 2-3 are solid food.

    Here is my schedule.

    Week 1

    M- possible training day
    T- possible training day
W- I have my son - I can workout in the morning on this day
    T - I have my son
    F - possible training day
    Sat - possible training day
    Sun -possible training day

    Week 2

    M- possible training day
    T - possible training day
    W- possible training day
    T - possible training day
F - I have my son - I can workout in the morning on this day
Sat - I have my son
Sun - I have my son

What would be a good way to incorporate DC's train regimine in this schedule ?

Do you follow his schedule where he works everybody part over the course of two workouts.

based on that shedule it would be

      Week 1

Mon. - Chest , Shoulders, Triceps, back width, back thickness
I take my son to school this day so I'd train in the evening

Wed. - biceps , forearms, calves, hams, quads
I pick my son up after school. I could train in the morning this day

Fri. - Chest , Shoulders, Triceps, back width, back thickness
I take my son to school this day so I'd train in the evening

      Week 2

Mon. - biceps , forearms, calves, hams, quads
I can train morning or evening this day

Wed. - Chest , Shoulders, Triceps, back width, back thickness
I can train morning or evening this day

Fri. - biceps , forearms, calves, hams, quads
I pick my son up after work. I can train in the morning this day

How does this look....any other advice or tips ?

Nope, that scedule looks good bro, now just eat a ton of food and destroy that log book everytime. Also, re-read the sticky at the top, then re-read it agian, and then maybe once more, just to make sure you have it all.

I'm kind of at the same point. I can't get in a workout for periods of five days every second week.

          Here is my work schedule:

          2 days on
          2 days off
          5 days on
          5 days off

          2 nights on
          2 nights off
          5 nights on
          5 nights off

These are 12 hour shifts and I can't eat as well during work hours.

          I'm a Paramedic btw.

Matt, quit your job and get to the damn gym, come on lets go, lol,
I think it would be very tough to do this program and gain some serious mass with your work schedule, food is the most important thing here too. But if you are not into gaining a lot of mass then what the hell, do what you can on this program...

In-human, I try to eat as much as possible but when running 12 calls back-to-back it's a quick protein bar and whatever I can get down the yapper while driving like a madman and talking with dispatch on the radio.

I'm starting university in sept. to get my Master's degree in BioMed and hope to go on for a MD in Emergency Medicine. I just can't get away from this aspect of medicine, I LOVE IT!

So when I start my Master's I'll be going part-time with EMS and might have more time.

DC how about you, think there is anything I can do to modify this?

Try my method for protein shakes...get a few shaker bottles and preload them with the powder. Carry a 2 liter of water to pour into the containers...shake them up and slam them. Throw in half a cup of oatmeal and try carrying a small bottle of olive oil with you. It may not be the best way to eat, but it's better then nothing.

I carry my little nutrition cooler with me where ever I go.

matt, Sunday is my prep day for the whole week, I try to cook 15 lbs of steak and 10 lbs of chicken, or even a 20 lb turkey, 8 cups of rice and 3 lbs of pasta. Then everynight if my finace is not here I make my food for the following day, like chicken or turkey sandwiches and I love cold steak, rice and pasta. I am lucky I have a fridge at work and a micro so my day is easy for adding mass...

in-human, you should just bring a cow on a leash with you where ever you go. and every 2-3 hours just cut peice of meat off, talk about fresh.

as well, maybe keep some extra live chickens in your trunk, you could design a portable make shift chicken coop.

                            LOL

matt, I know that some of the rtd's are not what they say they are since the ones in the cans are pasturized in the can, so the label is not correct in what is offered, but if you try DC and Dougs protein the Ion Exchange Whey, it mixes in seconds, even in a shaker, and it mixes with everything, excellent price and the fastest shipping in the west, check it out if you have not yet...
