It was a pretty heavy contest, and I am only around 220 lbs right now as well.

My team ended up in 3rd but I believe we were only 1-2 points out of second. The first place team ran away with it but they also finished 3rd at the WNSF World Team Contest (Lou Costa / Andy Deck).

Also - I saw your email on Facebook and will reply this afternoon.

          Thank you.

The monsterbell was definitely tough to stabilize/balance, it lived up to the name.

220?! Wow, you've dropped some weight. Any reason?

For the past year I have stayed around 220-225 lbs without having to eat too much or train very often. When I set out to contend for my Pro Card I knew that I would need to put on some mass in order to handle heavy weights in training and be competitive in the events (Connecticut and Dallas). Made some changes to my diet and increased implement training which helped me to gain about 20 lbs and then after Dallas I took some time off from training and gradually dropped back down.

When I begin training for the Arnold I plan to pack on some mass, but I am one of the guys who is a "True LW" - usually don't have to cut weight for contests.

Makes sense... Has your strength suffered from the drop in weight?

I have definitely lost some strength but that is to be expected since I haven't really been training much; right now I am in the process of building back up and am going to focus on some of my gym lifts.

One thing that I have noticed is that bodyweight seems to have a very big impact on my pressing. Just a few pounds of bodyweight one way or the other can make a huge difference with press strength.

                      Are you still deployed?

There is another contest at Brute in January, and I am sure that they will have an event some time in the summer as well.
