You can buy right from the source and get the high quality raw materials from Truenutrition.com or you can pay 1.5 to 3 times the cost for a glossy jug, fancy multicolored label, and $13000 per page magazine advertising costs....for a company I just might be making the product for anyway........

Up until a few years back I did drink a lot of crystal lite but couldn't continue to overlook the mountain of evidence proving it (aspartame) to be an extremely dangerous product and not something we should be ingesting in any ammount. This is what i personally believe to be true.

And yeah, I am extremely excited about TP's stevia based version that's soon to come out. I struggle to get my daily allotted water down without a little calorie free flavoring from time but I am to where I just don't want to compromise my health in the process

I hope the stevia products work out. I've tried using stevia as a sweetener and found the licorice taste to be unpleasant after a month or two.

there are many versions now....the plus 97 REB versions are really incredible and they have really gotten their ducks in a row with stevia now.......dont lump stevia all into one pile.....I have tasted 2 versions in the last 2 months while testing alot of stevia's that have really stood out as a bonafide sugar tasting copy....(and im working on carrying them not only for this project but on the site)

Cannot wait for the new product Dante. The whole aspartame issue seems to have alot in common with cigarettes. Everyone knows how bad they are for you but until recently the companies that make them have so much cash that they can make the research say whatever they want it to. This is America so we can choose to drink our posion a little bit at a time if we want but don't be so blind to that fact that is IS still poison.

Aspartame is broken down by the digestive process into aspartic acid, phenylalanine and methanol. What's the concern is methanol, which is further hydrolized into formaldehyde, which at high doses is toxic. However, what's found in aspartame is extremely low, typically 10-20mg. A serving of tomato juice contains 150-200mg. Citrus fruits and juices also contain high methanol producing compounds. Alcohol contains even more than tomato juice. What's found in aspartame is easily disposed of by the body, as the body routinely has to dispose of from other food sources anyway.

There was as report released in 1996 stating that since aspartame was released, the incidences of brain tumors had increased between 1975 and 1996. An analysis done by NCI after this was published found that the increase actually started 8 years before aspartame was released and no link to aspartame was found.

To date, there have been no clear evidence linking aspartame to cancer, CNS disorders, or the myriad other health factors these "studies" claim to find. If you ask me, people should be much more concerned about their high-GI carb, processed diets, smoking, heavy drinking and sedentary lifestyles than a sweetener that has been shown not to be the health menace they claim.

One exception to this is anyone who has phenylketonuria (PKU) in which the body isn't able to easily control phenylalanine levels.
Hi guys. It has been, ah, a while, yes.

I guess I am a scare monger. Hell, there goes the neighborhood. I need to rejuvenate my image as usually I'm told that I'm 'dangerous' (a compliment imo).

Guess I will reluctantly accept 'scare monger'. For now anyway.

                You wrote-

"All the legitimate studies have shown....." and then quote some .gov sites.

                Man....that took balls right there.

Then you mentioned an analysis by NCI that found nothing to worry about.

                A few things-

Firstly, the NCI doesn't know jack shit.

Secondly, if you are going to tell a story tell the WHOLE story. The bit about the methanol poisoning and how that substance is found in fruits and tomato juices and so on is the mantra espoused by the aspartame pundits and gov't scientists to validate consuming a poison.

The rest of the story is that while indeed these foods have methanol they also contain ethanol which is a natural antidote for methanol poisoning.

Thirdly, if aspartame is 'safe' why then did scientists at the FDA deny the approval of the chemical for 16 or so years, and why did they continue to object to the approval afterwards when the FDA head crouton vamoosed to work for the patentholder for aspartame?

Fourthly, was the testing equipment for methanol sensitive enough to detect methanol in the studies used to prove aspartame was safe?

Fifthly, the NCI doesn't know jack shit. Did I already write that?

Oh shit, I guess I did! Well, you could contact them and tell them that I said so.

                All the best,

The US Government is who approved its use. And they won't do anything about it, that is for sure.
