I'm not sure what's going on but I haven't made progress on my lifts for at least a year.
Some programs I have tried are westside, cube and 5/3/1.
westside made my squat and dead go down but bench go up but beat the shit out of my joints with all the max benching.
cube did nothing for me.
5/3/1 doesn't seem to do anything either. Been doing m-w-f, dead-bench-squat
I have done each for 6 mo to give them time to work to be fair. If I can get 10lbs on each I would be happy. My goals are 400 bench, 500 squat, 600 dead. I'm not looking to put weight on and would actually like to be a little leaner.
My current best lifts are 365 bench, 455 squat, 555 dead at about 200lbs. I am currently weighing 196 and even got up to 208 to try and get lifts up.
I was thinking of trying the BJ Whitehead template that Josh Bryant has in his book to change things up but can't find much info about it online. I’ve been reading that the more advanced you get the longer the program needs to be with deloads every 4 weeks or so yet there are some really strong people using 5/3/1.
What do you guys do when you hit a wall? Any recommendations?
