  • prep for full-power VS push/pull

    hey guys-

how do you guys alter your programming when prepping for a full-power meet VS a push/pull meet?

i just competed in a full power and there is a WABDL Push/Pull meet in 13 weeks that i would love to compete in....do you guys take away any of the squatting work to emphasize more pulling? (maybe squat after pulling) or do you leave your template the same.

currently running Wendlers 5/3/1 for PL but am open to alterations based on need

I would just squat without added singles or reps and push the other two normal, no sense in killing the squat but don't detrain either, maybe so more marrow stance pauses squats instead of wide.

I also like this idea, simply hit the required reps in the squats with no rep maxes or added singles. Using the SSB/Yoke Bar for the squats about 75% of the time may help as well

i posted in my journal about using the SSB as it is MUCH easier on my shoulders and also forces me to stay much more upright and hits more quads ............
