  • Lifting shoes

I'm looking into getting a pair of raised-sole shoes for my raw squatting, but I have no idea what's good and what isn't. I was thinking of this pair from Inzer just because they were much cheaper than what was offered by other companies:

Anyone have any experience with shoes like this?

I got me some Nike Romaleos that are bright neon green because I have low self-esteem and want everyone to see me when I walk around the gym.

But in all seriousness they're pretty good. Helps me get down deeper comfortably (via raised heel) and I feel much more stable and recruiting my ass/hammies more. As a result my knee pain has dissipated (still there but noticeably less.)

I forget how you squat but I squat Olympic style so that "high top support" on those INZERs might not be good for me...I like a little "give" around the ankle.

The flat soles make me feel bolted down to the ground. Takes some getting used to at first but now I can't squat without 'em!

edit. I think Adidas is famous for theirs...look into adistars. But then again $200 is pretty steep. I think they were the "official" weightlifting shoe for the US team at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

Sammich i've had a pair of these for couple years now, seem ok. Have not used any other lifting shoes for comparison though.

Recently bought Adidas trainers. For 83 bucks they are better than I'd have thought. They're the kind they use at pendlay's gym and I was too cheap to go adistars.

I'm pretty sure he's in on this secret.

If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say he's looking for raw comp, squat specific shoes with a slightly raised solid heel.

I have the Adidas powerlift trainers aand like them. Didn't feel like spending $200 on the Nike and the Do-win was out of stock at the time. I kind of flip flop back and forth between wide and more narrow squat with flat and oly shoes.

I hear the 2013 pendlay Do-win is an awesome shoe and probably what I'd buy today.

I got me some of the Nikes also. Helped my squats tremendously completely stable. I have also knee problems (upper and lower meniscus torn) I recommend them as well.
I have found iron to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me. It never runs. Friends may come and go but two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds. There is no better way to fight weakness than with strength, Once the mind and body have been awakened to their true potential, its impossible to turn back, the iron never lies to you.

I love these shoes.. They're very well built and sturdy. Had them for a few years now.

I decided on these, which seem to be continually sold out, so I might have to get something else:

I fucking love my adistars, but they are pricey. I paid $200 for them.

I use them to bench too because it allows me to arch well while keeping my heels planted for more leg drive.

Wouldn't these fit the big gay cowboy theme better? Solid heel, plenty of support, python skin.
