When doing the floor press, do I still pull my shoulder blades together and arch my back? I have been and starting to press just as much as my normal bench.

But started getting a little bicep pain today when going from the deadstop to driving it up the first movement hits my biceps, weird?

i tuck my shoulder blades under to get a nice platform for heavy pressing and to try and take my delts out of the movement. But I don't arch my lower back like I do when normally benching. That would be difficult to do.

What purpose do you think arching on a floor press would serve?

i recommend pausing at the bottom and keeping your legs straight out to further take any leg drive out of the movement.

Check to make sure you are pausing but not relaxing at the bottom.
