  • SPF Alabama State Meet 02.25.2012

Ok I took 2nd to a human forklift who went 675-340(w/a torn pec)-660, he set the squat, deadlift and total records at 198, the bench record is like 525 or something rediculous.

I will never ever cut weight again, I simply cannot rehydrate near quick enough. I need to get back to basics and work onform with my training. All in all probably wasn't a "bad" day, but I hold myself to some high standards and it sucked IMO, had I gotten my 600 squat I would be singing a different tune.

I competed in 198 RAW Full Power

I'm going to focus on form, speeed, back & quad size/strength and continue to recomp bodyfat & muscle. I'm goiing to do APA Raw Nationals in April, but push pull ony since I'm not walking 600 out of a rack. Thanks to John Caesar for handling me and taking care of breakfast and dinner. For some reason they did this meet backwards where the strongest flight went first, F'ing us for squat warmups. 70+ lifters equals a long ass day

Good job. I may do a meet in the off season so I have some strength goals. I'd love to hit those number in a meet. Your so close to making 600 on the squat. Very impressive. You definitely need to put fear aside on those lifts. Again, great job.

Thanks Dobe, my goal is a ration of 3:2:3 to bodyweight, I think from now on I'll make myself all of the 220 class that I can so it'd look something like 660:440:660. My short term goals are 600:400:600 and I'll hit them this year, hopefully by nationals in June.

Thanks, I weighed in at 197 and I'm probably 210 now or so, eating crappy this weekend then back in the saddle and cardio only this week and restoration work with bands. Feeling kind of crappy and out of it today.

I agree on the not cutting weight thing. Better to come in the next weight class and be at peak strength, I think. My bet is if you hadn't cut, you would have gone 625/395/555+. Take some time off, then get to work on Nationals!

Yeah you know, it never really dawned on me that rehydrating minus a colon is even harder to do.

Congrats, I know your disappointed but it was a learning experience that will make you better in the long run. I learned the hard way about cutting weight I after dropping it I just couldnt put it back in fast enough. Id listen to Sammi, I think we are all guessing and he's speaking from experience.

Thanks, yeah plus not eating on thursday and not being able to sleep being hungry and thinking about weighing in on top of all the other stuff really didn't help what so ever.

                      DCB,
Print this off and paint it on your walls.

Guys he did a great job. The inverted flights was very surprising for everyone in the building and I am pretty sure the lifters will tell you it was not the best scenario. Robb is awesome but he is right about trying to rehydrate.

Something tells me that you'd start squatting every day. Other countries have this mindset. America does not.

John is even more awesome...know why............because he's the one who made me realize it. He also made me realize I'm a head case at times and told me to stop over thinking stuff. He laso wraps one hell of a knee by the way.

Awesome work man. I thought you had the 600, at least it is in the very near future. You made the bench look easy as well. Really great numbers though. Congrats!

Agree with Nate. And I think a little form more form work will go a long way on your pulls. Your hips shoot right up before you break it off the floor almost straight legging the weight up.

Great job man. When I saw you say you wouldn't cut again I was thinking "damn, he is so close to 3-2-3Xs body wt." But then I saw that was what you are after and now you just wanna get it at 220. I hope to read about it when you get there.
                              Good luck.
                              Peace.
