Here it is, the return of the Prodigal Son, I am a Devil without a cause...I am the BullGod.
I'm going to share a little bit about where I'm going with you all. As a younger man, I had a fairly extensive history of bodybuilding competitions, with a career highlight of a 3rd in the NPC Jr USA middleweights 8 years ago. 2005 was my last time to compete, the IFBB North Americans. After that. the injuries started, blown out shoulder being the worst of it.
It took a long time to get back to good, hard, kill the average person type of workouts. I've had to revamp my entire thinking on how to train, I developed a whole new strategy. There are still certain exercises I can no longer do so I've learned to do without them, or do higher reps, or change angles, so on and so forth.
This Past fall, I turned 49...yes, I know...but training was going good and the thought of that "big one" being just around the corner has stirred a spark deep inside. I will compete again. I've never competed in a masters division, even when I was early 40's. I started dieting and training the 1st of the year for a show in May (no, I'm not saying where
). And for a 1st time, I've hired someone to do my prep for me.....yes, it is Skip.
So Rok and Skip have teamed up to whip this old guy into what hopefully will be some freaky condition (TeamSkipRok). I will track some of the highlights in here, but not getting into a lot of detail. I may even answer a few questions if I am asked nicely
and have any energy left.
As a starting point, I began at 202 lbs Jan 1, I am currently hanging around 184. We'll see where I end up in 8 more weeks.
