So after 19 years (and a cervical fusion) I've decided to step on stage one more time (yes, that is me in my profile pic, back in 1993). As I have been prepping for this "comeback" I ask myself why? Why are you doing all this?
Some of it is to see if I can do it. It's been a looong time since I've prepped for a show and hell up until last year this time even seriously worked out or cared about what I stuffed in my face. I was a fat mess ( and my 5 year old asked me at one point when I was having a baby). Almost exactly 1 year ago I weighed 269 pounds. We've worked hard these last 12 months and have gotten me down to 210.
I think the other reason (Other than Abby calling me out last year) is to show my kids that hard work pays off. I don't want them to quit when things get tough or hard ( both do dance and my oldest is on a gymnastics team and as she progresses they push her to be her best and she gets frustrated) you shouldn't quit or give up.
The last reason is the most obvious, I want and need to be healthy! I'm 44 and to be 269 pounds at 5'8" was a heart attack or stroke waiting to happen. I want to watch them grow up and all that kind of stuff.
Anyway. I'll check back from time to time with updates for anyone interested in following. The show is in October.
